Question about Kyocera CopyStar CS-3060 Black and White Copier

2 Answers

XP Pro SP3, workgroup of 7 PC's. Unit 04, was at one point configured so that during normal document printing, the paper came from cassette either 1 or 2, just as all the other units would also do. However, when a fax or ANYTHING from the Net was printed on and only on 04, the paper would draw from cassette 3 (which was inserted in the 3rd cassette landscape oriented; 04 prints would come out printed normally but would land on the paper exit area in landscape position). This was perfect because with the amount of printing she does, it was easy to differentiate her prints from the others. The most important note: This happened seamlessly! The user did not have to change orientation of the paper redirect to #3. She just selected print. A Word doc would come out just like everyone else?s but faxes and Net prints were normal but exisited landing in the landscape position. The PC dies, I install Win7 and after hours of looking, I cannot resolve this. I call the printer maintenance company thinking their top tech could easily guide me through this remotely. We spent nearly an hour and he cannot figure it out either. I considered the possibility that Win7 or the newest driver may have disabled or done away with this valuable functionality. We have 5 more XP machines, with the exact driver previously installed on 04. Again, I am unable to duplicate this previous 04 function from any of the other units. Must this be changed or set directly from the printer? I thank anyone who can help in advance and will give back to the community here.

Indeed it is and I made do changes there. The CS3060 as you know can be accessed via IP to reach the control center. The printer is installed individually on each unit at this point so it does not go through the XP workgroup server for print jobs. I wanted to ensure all peripherals and software would work on WIN7 before moving the server to SBS 2008.

Considering the PC which died and was replaced with a Win7 unit, I thought the same thing. However, the other 5 units are XP with the same driver that 04 used before it died and I cannot find any means to print a Word document like the rest of the units and then specifically print Netprint jobs from tray 3 which is loaded landscape. The Net print job is a PDF file and I will investigate whether I can force only PDF's and faxes to print from tray 3 (landscape loaded)

I would set it up for the printer to print like that by default. WIndows 7 may have discontinuted this option or you have to go into print properties before making a final print

HP LaserJet 3330 will not print multiple copies

Does this happen only with some documents/software? I have a different HP printer (a LaserJet) that does the same thing only with PDFs printed from another program. (This happens with PaperPort and browsers using the Adobe Reader plug-in, for example.) If I open Adobe Reader and then open the document in question, I can print multiple copies correctly.

I hope this helps.

Is it possible that you have installed winxp twice? You say that you installed XP Pro sp3 was that an upgrade from xp home? if so then you will need to uninstall one or both versions of XP then install only one.. Make sure you backup any important files first though

This may be because you have the wrong drivers installed- i reccomend starting your computer up in safe mode and using system restore go back to a past restore point before upgrading to SP3

then update your drivers before upgrading to SP3
i reccomend drivermax.com to update drivers.

We have a Canon Laser Class 700 series fax machine. When it runs out of paper in cassette tray 1 it doesn't automatically begin to use paper from cassette tray 2. Both cassettes have plain white letter...

Swap cassettes.. The side guides on one of them may not be tight against the paper.

Only put paper in the lower cassette and try to print a journal.

Print out a configuration page or parameter list to see if the machine knows you have two trays.
