Question about HP Officejet Pro L7680 All-In-One Printer

I have an HP Officejet 7500. This morning the printer was offline and could not restore connection. In the past I would delete the printer and re ADD the printer. However this time when I tried to Add the printer (network printer) the computer was not even recognixing the HP 7500 as even being in the network. What do I do?

If connection is USB:

First restart computer and printer and have a look at the USB cable (if printer is connected through USB).

While restarting the computer also disconnect printer and computer power cord for about ten minutes, this will drain power completely, and can fix problems caused by electrostatic charges that can affect USB.

  • Turn off computer.
  • Turn off printer.
  • Disconnect computer power cord.
  • Disconnect printer power cord.
  • Disconnect USB cable.
  • Restart computer.
  • Check on computer if there are docs in printer cue and delete them.
  • Restart printer.
  • Connect USB cable.
If that does not work, then you need to reinstall the printer software. In that case you can download updated software here:Software Downloads HP Officejet Pro L7680

To reinstall printer:

  • Disconnect USB cable.
  • Remove printer from installed printers.
  • Choose to remove all driver files if asked.
  • Reinstall printer software.
  • Connect USB cable when prompted by setup wizard.

If instead of USB the printer is connected trhough network cable or wireless network, then check that the computer has connectivity. In that case the steps are:

  • Disable firewall
  • Restart router, printer and PC.
  • Check network connectivity on computer.
  • Reinstall network printer.

My printer says it is offline HP officejet Pro 8630

Re-install the printer
A number of things such as updates, restarting the router etc etc will have caused it to do this.
3 ways of doing it:
1. Use the disk.
2. HP Officejet Pro 8630 All in One Printer Software and Drivers click software and drivers, follow the steps
3. Go to start > devices and printers > add printer > choose local if connecting via USB, choose networked printer if wireless, click next and follow the steps.

HP Printers have common behavior of going into sleep mode if not used for a while. If this happens every-time the printer goes to sleep mode and you find printing issue, try this simple step below

Disconnect the power cable from back of printer
While holding the # and 3 button, connect the power cord to printer.

*Note this is partial reset and doing so you may loose fax logs and other fax related setting you have setup on printer.

What I do in a case like this is do a system restore back to the time it worked. There is a chance that something in the registry got messed up and a restore should get it working again.

My HP OfficeJet 7410 is offline and I can't get it back online -- I have checked all connections. This happened after the last Vista update. Also, when it did print, the duplexing didn't work. Help!!!

Since this happened AFTER a Vista upgrade, I suggest that you look at the printer in the hardware are of Vista.
1. First remove the printer from the group of devices.
2. Reboot with the printer attached.l

If the printer does not automatically reinstall, then manually add it by using the Add Printer selection.

If you have two printers in the list delete them both and then reboot.

Hi there,
  • Unplug the printer cable from the computer.
  • Unistall the printer drivers from Device manager and also unistall the all the printer appications
  • restart the computer
  • try to download drivers from the website
  • after installing drivers and software it will ask you to connect the printer.
  • then you can connect the printer and and try to Print the test page.

Printer keeps becoming disabled


Usually, it happened when the usb cable is unplug, what you can do if the printer says OFFLINE.

1. Right click the printer ICON, and

Actually, you dont need to delete or uninstall the printer driver because it will just take some time. setting the printer to ONLINE by folowing the steps would save much of your time.
