If you can get it to the set screen or BIOS to change boot order, From another PC download the ISO burner (Imageburn) , and then download the Trinity Rescue cd ISO Image and save to desktop. Dr.Web also has a good rescue CD, both are free and so is Imageburn and all have tutorials.

http://download.imgburn.com/SetupImgBurn_2.5.2.0.exe

How to tell if a hard drive needs replacing on a samsung r519

1. If you have blue screen give us the exception code (0x000000) 2. How did you get to this point? 3. What is the condition of you install disk? Windows setup could just be messing up because the windows disk is damaged. Find an OEM copy of windows and set it up to boot from flash drive or external drive (CDs at prone to damage if you want a reliable windows install only use optical media if its in pristine condition.)

Laptop has an error message that says boot manager is missing press contrl alt delete to restart computer

If you go to this link it will walk you through the steps of being able to reprogram your boot manager. Its a software issue, not hardware. If you have your windows cd (windows 7 or Vista) you should of got when you bought the computer, it will walk you through all the steps & help you repair it for free.
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/fixing-bootmgr-is-missing-error-while-trying-to-boot-windows-vista/

If you don't have access to the disk another possibility is that you can turn your computer on, while it is turning keep pushing down F8 button continually during start up. That should take you to the internal computer operating system, where you can select safe mode. When it opens you will be asked if you want to continue in safe mode or reboot computer to a date that worked you know of. It will restart it from that point, before you got a virus.
Hope either help, not sure if reboot way will work without a boot manager but worth a try. I've done it when I got infected with a virus on my dell laptop.

System restore XP doesn't go back a month

The system restore will only work if it has a restore point available ..These restore points are the ones that are highlighted on the calendar when the restore service is accessed..If you only have the current month displayed..you can roll back the calendar ..and choose a date which is highlighted..but if you do not have a functional restore point you will not be able to do it ..If the system was recently installed it also will not have a restore point available older than the date it was installed...or the date the system restore was enabled..My advice is to choose a date available ..and restore it anyway if it makes problems ..it is not necessary to restore it to a date so far back ..but to a date when you know it worked well..
If the system was affected by a virus...you have to know that the system restore may brink it back if it has a restore point not affected by the virus..but the problem will still be in the computer and will came back ...so the action is to reinstall it completely or use the recovery disk or partition .

My computer is unable to boot in any of the options, what do i do?

Booting problems with your laptop occur when the computer gets infected by a virus or when there are underlying hardware problems. You can use several troubleshooting techniques before taking the laptop to a service center for repair.

1. Turn on the laptop without pressing the power button too long, to prevent it from turning on and then turning off. Also make sure that the laptop has enough battery power to boot up.

2. Unplug any external drives connected to the computer. These include flash drives, external hard drives or any CD or DVD in the optical drive. Listen closely as you boot the computer. If the laptop is emitting ticking sounds and refuses to boot up at all, the hard drive or another internal component may be damaged. Consider bringing your laptop to a service center.

3. Turn on your computer and boot to "Safe Mode" or "Last known good configuration" if the computer powers on but displays an error before it boots the operating system. If this is the case, the laptop may be infected with a virus.

4. Use the "System Restore" feature in Windows to restore the operating system to an earlier time. Note, however, that this will not work for those whose computers have the "System Restore" feature disabled. Click "Start," "All Programs," "Accessories," "System Tools," and then "System Restore." When the dialog box appears, click on the box for "Restore my computer to an earlier time," and then "Next." Select the restore point that you want and follow further instructions.

5. Resolve a "blue screen" problem. This error screen appears before booting, and is caused by several factors such as virus infection or hardware failure. Read the error message to determine what factor caused the problem. The error message should include troubleshooting tips.

6. Consider repairing the operating system if the computer does not boot at all. This procedure will repair the operating system without erasing your data and settings. Access the Resource list for instructions on how to repair Windows.

I hope you find it very helpful. Thank you for using fixya.

Windows Recovery Virus has made all of my files hidden and I am having a hard time accessing ANY of my commands even safe mode at this point. I just need a little assistance on what I can do to restore...

use this data recovery program to scan your computer and then recover your files.
http://www.asoftech.com/adr/

This software scans all storage space on computer and then join pieces together to recover files. So even virus affected your file table, and put virus to boot sector, the program can still be used to recover your files.

The laptop boots very very slow

Some of the things that could affect your laptop from booting up are the start up programs e.g. skype, limewire, windows live messenger etc. I recommend checking there first to ensure you don't have programs that automatically start up as they slow up the process. Your antivirus (if you have one) sometimes slows up the process as well as it does a pre-scan before and while you are booting up Windows.
There is a program you can download for a free trial. (Click on start download). It will help you get rid of some of your start up problems and also clean your registry and fix other common errors you may have with your laptop.
Please try it and see if it works for you. Thanks for using FixYa.com and if you were pleased with the results, don't forget to vote!!

I recently had a huge virus attack on my laptop and there is still this worm that my system picks up but not my anti virus i need to format my laptop but it does not seem to want to boot from the cd what...

Take a can of air and blow some air onto the laser gently to make sure no dust or dirt is affecting it.

Then go into the BIOS and make sure the cd-rom is the first boot device. Then put your operating system cd into the drive and "press any key" when that message comes up so the system can boot up off of the cd.

If after setting the cd-rom as the 1st boot device you can't get the laptop to boot up off of the OS cd then that means the cd-rom is bad and would need to be replaced. When you boot up off of the cd-rom your in DOS and any viruses or worms wouldn't affect it.

Error 105

It's possible that you have some kind of malware issue. I would download and run Malwarebytes from here. Update the definitions and run a quick scan to see if it finds anything. It would be best to do this from Safe Mode to make sure nothing else is running. Also would be good to test if this happens in Safe Mode as well. I would recommend booting up into Safe Mode with Networking so you can still get on the internet.

To boot into Safe Mode, Restart your computer and keep tapping F8 usually right before the Windows XP screen appears. If you see the Windows XP screen then you have gone too far.

The other solution would be if you have a corrupted operating system. At this point I would just backup your data and reformat you PC to start out fresh.

Not sure how to describe my problem, except my Acer Aspire keeps kicking off & then re-boots. I'm running a trial version of Advanced Registry Optimizer & it has found 122 errors!

Its all the work of some Virus, trojan..Most of the problems here is due to these malware programs.. :( ..anyway..However we secure the system with antivirus and antispy software, there isnt any 100% safety frm these black cats..f you had 122 errors from scanning..and if some of them which has been affectted must be a windows critical file , which doesnt allow the OS to boot in..Format your entire drive and reinstall the OS..use some Registry firewall..coz..whatever virus attacks..affects the Winsows registry first..and this software notifies the changes happening to the registry and asks the permission of user..like "Spybot - search and destroy".
