The freezer is fine steady at 0, but the refrigerator temperature keeps rising currently at 67 degrees.

Check the freezer make sure you do not have frost build up. Defrost problems choke out the air flow and if it happens the refrigerator will not cool.

WHAT CAUSES MY MODEL PLH567EESB9 SIDE BY SIDE TEMPERATURE ON BOTH FREEZER AND REFRIGERATOR TO RISE . WHEN I SUT OFF OR TURN ON THE ICE MAKER THE TEMPS GO BACK TO NORMAL SETTINGS

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that the temperatures are rising on your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# PLHS67EESB9. I also see that the temperatures go back to normal when you shut off or turn on the ice maker. There could be a possibility that there is a miscommunication between the different boards inside your appliance. I suggest resetting your appliance, be either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power keep track of your temperatures. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Freezer turns of in cold weather

Many residential refrigerator / freezers are designed to work at temperature considerably above above freezing. Most modern refrigerator / freezer have a single electric thermostat - located in the fresh food compartment. This lone thermostat will control the compressor to keep the fridge (fresh food) section at the desired temperature (usually between 34 - 38 degrees F). The freezer will get colder regardless of how cold it is already whenever the fridge thermostat turns the compressor on.

Now that you see how the thermostat works, let's look at what happens when the fridge is placed in an unheated space - like a garage. In winter time, the temperature can drop considerably below 38 degrees. If the outdoor temperature remains cold enough, for long enough - it will affect the thermostat in the fridge. The temperature inside the fridge could drop below 38 degrees, preventing the thermostat from telling the compressor to turn on. Meanwhile, the temperature in the freezer compartment slowly rises from the normal -10 to 0 F degrees. It will continue to rise until it is the same temperature as the fresh food compartment or until the thermostat in the fresh food compartment tells the compressor to turn on again. This means the freezer contents will thaw.

If the temperature in the garage is even in the 40 to 50 degree range, the loss of cold in the fridge may not happen often enough to keep the compressor coming on often enough to keep some freezer items frozen solid - such as ice cream. Remember, water freezes at 32 degrees F, other products may require lower temperatures to remain frozen, and could thaw at 28 or other temperature.

Good luck!

Temperature rising in freezer and fridge motor running constantly

The temperature in the freezer will rise if there is no air circulation. Air circulation stops when the evaporator freezes solid. When this happens the thermostat cn not respond and the fridge keeps running.
Defrost the freezer and see if things return to normal. If they do then you have an auto defrost problem.
A technician can help you with this problem

The freezer temperature changes sporadicaly. It

The temperature would charge due to change of cycles in the refrigerator operation. For example, the temperature would slowly rise if the compressor has shut off. Also, the temperature would rise significantly during the defrost process. A heater is activated at the evaporator coil to thaw the ice that forms there. This heat would transfer to the freezer unit and would cause the temperature to go up.

As long as the cycles are constant, and the temperature does not rise significantly and keep rising for a long period, there is no problem.

Temperature 0 The digital display switches from normal 5 to 0. Resetting works occasionally

There is likely no problem. The temperature inside a freezer will charge incrementally during the day as the refrigerator goes through various cycles. For example, during the defrost cycle, the freezer temperature will rise significantly due to the heat from the evaporator heater. This temperature rise is temporary and should not cause a problem.

Fridge side cant keep 100 percent cold

Have you noticed a big difference lately in the cooling of the cold food section? Any time you open doors to a refrigerator or freezer you allow them to exchange room temperatures with inside ambient temperatures. The only time you should be concerned is when these temperatures begin to remain abnormally high. Many times the temperature rises in the kitchen while diner is prepared. Those temperatures also affect how long your refrigerator need to run to maintain the temperature settings you select. Your refrigerator has something called an Adaptive Defrost Control. If you should have problems with it you would notice a big difference.Another thing that can help is to make sure the condenser coils below refrigerator remain clean and clear of dust. The warm air circulating below your refrigerator is as important as the cold air inside. As for the vents that lead from freezer to cold food section they sometime become obstructed especially if they have a damper inside and frost locks the damper shut. If I missed something here please let me know, Thank You, Sea Breeze
