Why is my washer saying low water pressure. How can I fix that without have someone come out to repair it

It depends on the cause of the water pressure issue. I'd first check your incoming water to the washer. Turn off the inlet shut-off valves and disconnect the hoses. Check the hose filters and the inlet valve filters. Remove any debris. Next put a large bucket under the shut-off valves and open them fully for a minute. Check how much water flows into the bucket. If very little water was in your bucket, you'll need to check where the restriction is in your water lines. (The water pressure needs to be sufficient to fill the washer in about 8 minutes. Depending on your home, you may need a professional to check the water at your water connection to the city or at your well pump.) Empty the bucket. Replace your inlet hoses at the valve side and repeat the test. If you are getting low water flow with the hoses in place, replace the hoses. Some hoses have a "anti-flood" feature which restricts the hose if there is a problem. (I've seen the hot water flow rate to the washer significantly decrease due to the hose blocking the flow. The cold water hose was replaced at the same time to avoid it failing in a short time.)

Next check that the drain hose isn't below the level of the water in the washer. This can cause siphoning and empties the washer as fast as it fills.

If the water pressure is still low after testing these items, the problem could be the inlet valves on the washer or the air pressure at sensor that detects the water flow. On some washers, you may be able to remove the debris in the air tube. However, if there is a pinhole, that part will need to be replaced.

I hope this helps.

Kenmore eco cycle front load washer. error E70 displays and stops washer. What does E70 mean?

You should check the model number of the washer. If the model number starts 417, then the washer was made by Frigidaire. In that case, the E70 error indicates that cold water is not being detected at the washer inlet sensor.

In some cases, this could be due to connecting the hot water line to the cold water inlet (and the cold water to the hot water inlet). Make sure that the cold water shut-off valve is open. Try swapping the water hoses (close the shut-off valves first). Try new hoses; some anti-flood hoses will restrict the water flow if they detect damage. Thus you won't have sufficient water coming into the washer. (You can check this yourself. Turn off the shut-off valves. Disconnect the hoses from the washer and put the ends into a bucket. Then open the shut-off valves and check the water flow.) While you have the hoses off, check for debris in the inlet filters.

If the hoses are fine, you probably have a problem with the washer's inlet valve or the reed switch that measures incoming water. The inlet valve should be replaced if you find that only hot water enters the washer.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the model number of your washer for more information. It will be on the inside of the door opening (probably at the top).

FH error on display

An FH error usually means low water flow into the washer. This can be caused by debris in the filters between the intake hoses and the washer, closed water valves, low water pressure or a problem with the system that checks the water flow.

Some intake hoses when they detect a leak will seal themselves. So you may want to replace them. Shut off the water valves and remove the hoses from the washer. Check the filters for debris. With a bucket under the hoses, open the valves and check the rate of water flow. You may want to check the filters on the valve side of the intake hoses after turning the valves to off again. If water flows into the washer and then into the drain, reset the drain hose. The outlet of the hose should be above the water level in the washer. Otherwise, the water will suction out of the unit.

If these parts are fine and there is still no water flowing into the machine, the intake valve is faulty.

If you are getting the error when the washer is full of water, it's the pressure switch or the flow meter. In a few cases, the cause is actually damage to the air hoses connected to the pressure switch. If one of these thin tubes is leaking, the pressure switch will not work properly.

I hope this helps.

My washer is flashing LF

LF error code indicates that there is a water supply problem.

Are both the hot and cold water faucets turned on? Turn on the water. Check the household faucets to see if the hot and cold water faucets are turned on. Completely open both faucets for proper fill.

NOTE: Both hot and cold water must be connected to the washer and turned on. The washer will not properly operate with only one incoming source of water.

Are the water inlet hoses kinked? Straighten the water inlet hoses.

Are the water inlet valve screens on the washer clogged? Turn off the water and remove inlet hoses from the inlet valves in the back of the washer. Inside the inlet valves are screens. Remove any accumulated film or particles from the screens. Reinstall hoses, turn on water, and check for leaks. See the Installation Instructions for details.

10_8_2011_2_15_30_pm.jpg

Is the water pressure less than 10 psi? If the water pressure is too low, the washer may not properly operate. To find out your exact pounds-per-square-inch (psi) value, contact your local water utility company.

Is the drain hose extending more than 8" (20.3 cm) into the drainpipe? The drain hose may be too far inside the drainpipe (standpipe) or laundry tub. Drained water can siphon back into the washer if the drain hose extends too far. Make sure the drain hose does not extend more than 8" (20.3 cm) into the drainpipe or laundry tub. Using the U-shaped drain hose form as described in the Installation Instructions will provide the appropriate length of drain hose in the drainpipe or laundry tub.

Wont fill up with water

Do you get any water coming into the washer?

If water is not entering the washer, check that the incoming water valves are open and water flows through them. (Take off the hoses and put a bucket under the pipes.) Make sure that any filters are not clogged (for example with bits of damaged washer). Make sure that the hoses are not kinked. Next take off the hoses from the washer's fill valve and check if the filters are clogged (not present on all washers). Try replacing the hoses (there are anti-flood hoses that will seal themselves if they sense a leak). If that doesn't help, then the valves probably need to be replaced.

If water is entering the washer, check the filters at the inlet valves for partial blockages. Next check your water flow rate. (If the flow is too low, the washer may shut down. Check your manual for details or add a comment with the model number of your washer.) Next check if the water is being siphoned into the drain. This will occur if the drain hose is not positioned properly in the stand pipe (or sink). If the end of your drain hose is lower than the washer water level, this can happen.

I hope this helps.

Washer is working during spin, meaning it's still

Hi, a Kenmore washer that is not filling with water may have clogged inlet screens. Place a bucket underneath the hoses to catch any leftover water. Unplug the washer and turn off the water supply. Remove the water hoses from the back of the washer and inspect the screens inside the inlet ports. Often, these clog with sediment. Clean the screens with a small toothbrush. After cleaning, reattach the hoses and turn the water supply and power back on.

Another reason the washer might not fill is something interfering with the water pump. Check the connecting hoses on the water pump to make sure they are not clogged. With the hoses disconnected, check the water pump for obstructions.

Select PAUSE/OFF twice to cancel the cycle. Unplug washer
or disconnect power.
Check the following:
Are water faucets completely turned on?
Are screens at inlet hose connection to washer clogged?
Are water inlet hoses kinked?
Are water inlet hoses frozen?

Also check the pressure hose for cracks or worn through spots, and pressure switch.

This morning i turn on the washer and there was no water coming in to it

Turn off water to washer; disconnect hose from washer, and check for any debris in hose or where the hose connects to washer. put hose inside of washing machine and turn the water to the hose on, to flush out anything that might be in the hose; if no water check other end of hose for blockage; if water comes out of hose , call repairman.

Water leaks

If there is water leaking from under the washer, then you have a water leak from one of your water hoses. Check the back of the washer, where the water comes into the washer, to see if its leaking water or the hose is cracked. If its leaking water from the intake hose, then unscrew the hose and check the rubber washer, to see if it needs reolaced. Sometimes those rubber washers get cracked or broken. If that doesn't help, unplug your washer from the power cord and unscrew your intake water hoses and flip the washer gently on it's side and check the water hoses under the washer for leaks or cracks. Replace the hoses if cracked. Your local hardware store should have replacement hoses. This should solve your problem, but if not, then you need to call a washer repair person to look at it. I hope this helps.:)
