Question about Miele Novotronic T1570C Electric Dryer

Open Question

My T1570 C dryer is leaking water. It's coming from the heat exchanger which is soaking wet. I cleaned it but the problem has persisted. I've checked that it is inserted correctly and closed. Often the red light and buzzer will come on that tells you to empty the water container but the container is always red hot and bone dry. I have the stackable washer/dryer and I did vaccum behind but I'm thinking something inside the hoses may be clogged. I also sometimes smell a burning smell but there is nothing clothes wise inside that could cause this and the stuff in the lint catcher by the door is moist instead of dry. Do I need to call a repair service or is there something I can do myself? I've looked through the manual and tried everything to no avail. I don't want to use the dryer at this point for fear of a flood or fire.

SOURCE: When I put the dryer on it smells as if something

HI. You will need to make sure the dryer vent hose, as well as, the rest of the vent duct, is not clogged or obstructed. Unless regular maintenance is performed; chances are there is a lot of lint accumulated inside the dryer. This might affect the drying time and could be a fire hazard. Make sure to have your dryer cleaned regularly. Because this might involve taking most of the dryer apart, it is recommended to have a qualified service tech perform this task. I am certain that your unit will need to be cleaned. The main target areas will be the blower housing and vent ducts.

SOURCE: Dryer is not getting hot

ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DO ANY WORK ON IT.
Check to make sure you are getting full 220 Volt power to the dryer, if you are then:
Check your Wiring
Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, burns and the connection breaks. If this has happened to your dryer, you need to replace the power cord and the terminal block inside the dryer to which the wire is attached.
Check the Door Switch
If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch. Check for continuity you should have none with door open, and should have a reading when closed. If not replace the door switch.
Check to make sure you heating problem is not a lint build up in the discharge hose or the dryer,as this condition can cause heater/thermistor problems such as overheating of the heating coil leading to failure of the coil and burnout of the thermostat/thermistor due to overheat.
Remove the back/or front just under the door of the machine and try to locate the air duct going from the blower to the drum. Normally inside/outside the air duct you will find the heating coil and the thermostats/thermistors. Once you have located the heating coil, remove the two wires from it and check the coil with an ohm meter across the two terminals of the coil.
You should read continuity across the terminals, if not you will need to replace the coil as it is faulty.
If the heating coil is ok, then:
You can check the thermostat/thermistor one at a time by removing the two wires and taping them together with electrical tape or with an ohm meter to test the thermostat/thermistor. (Should have/show continuity)
If the coil heats up then replace the thermostat/thermistor.
(Thermal fuse.If it overheats the dryer will not operate. It's located on the blower housing. It cannot be reset. A vent clogged with lint can cause it to overheat. You can test it with an Ohm meter or continuity checker, if no continuity, replace it)
DO NOT LEAVE THE WIRES TAPED TOGETHER AFTER THE TEST.
This could cause a FIRE, as you have removed the safety of overheat from the machine.
Right after replacing a dryer element, always run the dryer on 'air fluff' / 'no heat', and go outside to verify there's plenty of air coming out your vent system.
If the vent's clogged, that new element can burn out very quickly.

Is it gas dryer?

If it is might be problem with the heat exchanger, Water is one of the by products of combustion.

By chance do you have a Carbon Monoxide sensor?

Easy way to tell if a cracked heat exchanger is the problem.

Other thought I have is the dryer heating up when its drying, if the heater isn't working and you are throwing wet clothes in there that could be part of the issue.

a couple thoughts anyways

Water under and around dryer. Clothes dry but water on floor. The wash not leaking. I the vent and line are not clogged. What is causing the water under dry?

Unless the clothes are dripping, soaking, wet when they're put in the dryer (and it would take them a loooong time to dry if that were the case) there's bound to be a leak of some kind coming from somewhere other than the dryer. Do you have a lavatory or toilet on the other side of the wall behind the dryer? They dryer has no water of its own to leak.

I just found my floormats and floorboard soaking wet, can you explain?

on the passenger side? if it is the passenger side is your heat exchanger carrying the coolant that is used to regulate the cabin temperature. it is under the dash. Usually what happens is that the condenser (heat exchanger) the drain hose coming thru the firewall inside the engine compartment (passenger side) clogs not letting drain the water removed from the cabin during the AC cooling process. then the water start to bleed thru the joints of the box enclosing the heat exchanger. the solution is to blow or vacuum the protruding drain hose to clear the water path.

Now if the soaking carpet smell like coolant the problem is different.

First of all the item I referred to in my question is actually a heat exchanger located below the dryer drum.
The maintenance man in the condo said remove it and clean it with soap and water. I did have a garden hose with a sprayer so I used the bath tube to give it a good cleaning.
It now looks clean and I cleaned the housing where this part is located with vaccuum and wet cleaning.

Burning smell coming from the dryer!

You have a serious clog somewhere in your dryer exhaust ventilation. I would recommend you STOP using the dryer immediately and clean both the interior and all the vent ducting from where it exits the dryer to where it exits the home. the burning is coming from lint build up in and around the heating element and its beginning to smolder. This is a potential fire hazard and may end up causing the heating circuits to fail. The condensation comes from the the inability of the hot air (which is mixed with humidity from your clothing) condensating inside the vent duct. The lint starts to collect and get wet to the point of saturation. Then it begins to cause water to form and leak out of the ducting and on to your floor. You do not want this condensation inside the dryer where the heating circuits are. The following link will provide with some guidance for future reference:

Pay particular attention the paragraph where it discusses proper dryer ventilation. I hope this helps you. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Power off the wall. Get user's manual, look for blocked filter. Open up the filter, usually front bottom right side, clean, refit. Be prepared for much water to come out. The filter requires periodic cleaning according to usage.
Also possible your hose under the machine tub is blocked.......
