These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power led, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. With no stand by light, you are not getting power.Unplug TV and check fuse on power supply. You will need a meter to look for shorted components and possibly leaky/bulged capacitors that are killing your power supply. flickering could be part of the bad power supply or possibly a problem with YSustain area of your TV

Sets usually come with a 1 year warranty. It should be under warranty. Check the owners manual. It states it in there.

My LG 17LX1R had a almost the same problem. Red standby went to green for 1-2 seconds then back to red standy. Turned out to be bad caps on the power supply board. Yours is definately going to need to be opened up. Not a generic fix. You gotta ask yourself if its worth fiixing a 6-7 year old LCD tv with limited LCD life. New ones can be had for about $130-150.

Go to a repair centre, some parts must be fixed/replaced.

You should have a 1 year warranty if purchased new. Probably the main board.

After spending hours on this I found that code 0206 worked on my sky+ remote(with LG 42LC46). On an old sky remote, prior to version 4 (inside the battery compartment), just use 206.
This code was actually for a LG 42PX5D but it works perfectly on my tv.
