Set the camera's shooting mode to one of the two remote modes. Quick-response remote mode fires the shutter when you press the button on the remote. Delayed remote mode waits two seconds for you to hide your hand behind your back before firing the shutter.

SOURCE: I have purchased the ML-L3 remote for my Nikon

Refer to your camera's user manual and hopefully you have a section in that manual that talks about "Release Mode". I have a D90 so I am can only guide you to my research. Hopefully your camera has a release mode section that shows you how to change mode from "single frame" to "continious low speed" to continuous high speed", self timer...and the two that you need will be "delayed remote" and "quick response". All the best.

I assume you mean either the D50 or the D5000.

In either case, set the camera's shooting mode to one of the two remote modes. Quick-response remote mode fires the shutter when you press the button on the remote. Delayed remote mode waits two seconds for you to hide your hand behind your back before firing the shutter.

Does nikon D5000 work with infrared

If you're asking about an infrared remote control then yes. It will work with the ML-L3 remote or equivalent. You will have to set the shooting mode to one of the two remote modes to do so.

If you're asking about taking infrared pictures then not so well. The camera has an infrared filter that masks out most infrared light from reaching the sensor. There are companies such as LifePixel which will remove the infrared filter to convert your camera into an infrared camera.

You need to set the release mode to one of the remote modes. The quick-response remote mode fires the shutter when you press the button on the remote. The delayed remote mode gives you two seconds to hide the remote behind your back before firing the shutter.

See the "Release Mode" section of the manual (page 65 in my copy).

How to set my ml-l3 remote control on my nikon d3100?

The D3100 doesn't work with the ML-L3. It uses the MC-DC2 remote cord instead.

Sorry if that wasn't the answer you wanted to see, but there it is.

How do i use the remote to my nikon d5000

Set the camera's release mode to one of the two remote modes. The quick-response remote mode fires the shutter when you press the button on the remote. The delayed remote mode gives you two seconds to hide the remote behind your back before firing the shutter.

To set the camera's release mode, press the [info] button to display the information screen. Press the [i] button to put the cursor into the information display. Use the direction keys on the multiselector to highlight the release mode (fourth item from the top, along the right edge of the screen) and press [OK]. Use the direction keys to highlight the desired mode and press [OK].

For further information, please refer to the "Release Mode" section in the manual (page 65 in my copy of the manual).

ML-L3 Remote control

Sadly, the ML-L3 does not work with the D700. You need to buy the much clumsier and much more expensive ML-3, which has a wireless receiver you hook to the camera and a wireless transmitter you use to fire the camera.

Lame, but true.
