Black substance is dripping from bottom, right front ... what is causing this? Also, is this printer wireless capable? Thank you.

Your waste ink tank is full and overflowing. It usually happens when using non genuine ink refills because the original HP ink drys to mud, but non- original stays liquid and leaks.
Yes, it is wireless capable.

My black ink printed very faint lines, changed the cartridge and did a print head cleaning, and now it doesn't print black at all.

Make sure you didn't get an old cartridge where the ink is dried up. Check the bottom of the cartridge where the ink comes out. Does the ink seem fresh and liquid or old and sticky or dried out? This happens. If its not that then you might have clogged jets on your printer head. To clean these you have to drop a few drops of isopropyl alcohol down into the inkjet heads (the little holes that the ink from the cartridge goes into) and allow it to soak overnight. The next day wipe with a q-tip. Place a cloth beneath the inkjet heads to catch any drippings overnight.

I need to know where on the Cannon is the ink absorber?

If you've used the printer for any amount of time it's the black nasty lump of ink in the bottom of the tray under where the print head parks. The name makes you think it'll be a sponge of some sort, but it's actually little more than a square of cardboard at the bottom of a well that the dripping ink can adhere to rather than running freely out of the printer should you tip it upright.

HP Deskjet 950c won't print black

You might be able to use a q-tip with alcohol or acetone to loosen and clean residual ink from the inside and bottom of the black printer cartridge tray--I've even had to use compressed air after loosening the junk after my HP sat for a year. Btw, I'm sure you know this, but the contact pads need to be clean and free of factory tape. I hope this helps.

Was working fine. Ran out of ink. bought new black and color cartridges (ordered from Zerox) Cannot get printer to print in color or black. I have cleaned print heads etc.but to no avail. Thanls

There are some soft pads in the bottom where the ink cartridges sit.
Try this. Unplug the printer. lay some paper towells under where the print cartridges are inserted and drip some alcohol down into that area. That will soften and unclog the print head. Do that a ferw times to losten up the ink and flush it out. Then allow the printer to sit for a while then run several test pages. Most of the time that will resolve the problem you are having, Those liquid inks dry and get very tacky and will not allow ink to flow properly.

If you were using an original cartridge, contact HP and they will probably ask you to mail in the faulty cartridge.

If you were using a refilled cartridge you might have to buy a new printer.

Black text d not print

If the printer has been left for some weeks with an empty black cartridge then I suspect the print head is clogged.
To clean the print head, firstly remove it.
Remove each cartridge quickly and turn it upside down so ink does not drip out.
Flush warm water with a drop of detergent through the metal meshes at the bottom front inside of the print head unit. Continue untill the water coming out of the bottom of the print head is clear.
Then flush through with clean warm water for about 30secs.
Shake as much water as possible out of the unit.
Replace the cartridges quickly to avoid ink dripping out.
Undertake a nossle (head) clean on the printer until printing correctly.

Hope this helps.

Wweluvgolf, sometimes after you remove the protective tap from the ink cartridge, it leaves behind tape residual. Suggest you clean the ink cartridge's copper contacts with alcohol & cotton swabs. (No dripping alcohol). Do not clean the bottom of the ink cartridge. Also clean the copper contacts in the carriage. Allow all to dry. Reassemble & try printing a test page.
In the future keep your recipts when buying ink. From time to time you will buy a bad cartridge. With the recipt you'll be able to exchange it for another (free). Always store ink in it's upright posistion.

If this did not help please let me know & post the model number of the printer.

Luck!
Mike
