Question about HP Compaq 6735s Notebook

1 Answer

I have a problem where i think the connection between adapter and the slot you plug it in to on the laptop. it has come to the point now where my laptop will not even turn on. I press the power button and all that happens is that i get a yellow flashing ring around the input slot for the adapter on the laptop. also with the adapter plugged in, i have to fiddle with it to ensure that the laptop recognises that the adapter is actually plugged in so it can keep charging. please forward me any sort of info that can help thank you

Motorola 1c743 wireless adapter reset

You modem needs to be powered on, linked to your cable or phone connection, and then linked to your router with an Ethernet cord. You also need a base computer (connected to the router with Ethernet as well) to adjust your router settings, like password and router name, and assure that you are communicating with the Internet.

Install your wireless adapter software to your laptop or computer that will be using the Internet wirelessly. You will be prompted at some point during the installation to plug in the adapter. (If prompted, restart your computer.)

Plug the adapter into your computer or laptop. Some adapters come as USB-compatible (Universal Serial Bus) plug-and-play devices, and others are PCMIA (Personal Computer Memory Card International Association) cards that go into a special wide slot in laptops.

Go to your computer control panel and click on Network Connections when the software download is complete (if the control panel does not load automatically). Your new adapter should be now be listed. Select the icon and look at the description to make sure that it is connected. If not, right-click the adapter icon and click Enable.

Double-click the adapter to search for a wireless connection. Refresh the list of connections available until you find the name of your router. Enter any passwords that you set up for your wireless router and then connect to the Internet.

Aspire on charging point problem

When you connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED light up? If not then - The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's power socket could be faulty. Check power adapter's DC plug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that is printed on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the adapter is OK then connect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/battery charging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder joint where it is connected to the motherboard. This can be repaired but it requires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket and repair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

How to turn on wireless switch on a desktop

I've never seen a 'switch' on a desktop to turn-on wireless, like there are on Laptops/Notebooks.

Usually it is either a device that is install in a slot in the PC, or it is a USB plug-in adapter. There ARE some motherboards with built-in Wireless ability, those can be turned-On/Off in the BIOS.

You would have to have a Wireless Router/Wireless Access Point in place already, it would need to be setup and security enabled.

Then it would be a matter of installing the driver for the device....WHEN you do that depends on the type of adapter you have:

add-on slot adapter -- Install adapter, then driver software
USB -- install driver software, DO NOT plug-in adapter until directed to do so, or the driver installation finishes.

Hi i have the canon mp490 all in one printer and i was just wondering how to i get things to print from my lap top

1) Install the network adapter on the printer, if necessary. Many wireless printers have the adapter pre-installed, but if this isn't the case, turn off and unplug the printer. Then, remove the back cover on the adapter slot and place the adapter into the slot.

2) Plug in and turn on the printer. Then, insert the drivers CD that came with the printer into the CD drive of the computer. If you've misplaced the CD, the drivers can be downloaded from the website of the printer's manufacturer.

3) Configure the network adapter. Once the drivers installation has loaded, select "Using a wireless network" and then select "Next". Usually, there is a User Agreement at this point, to which you will agree and press "Next".

4) Connect the laptop to the printer using a USB cable. Connect one end into the USB port on the back of the printer and the other end to a free USB port on the computer.

5) Finish configuring the network adapter. After connecting the laptop and printer with the USB cable, select "Create or modify the printer's wireless settings" and then click "Next".

6) Connect the printer to a wireless network. The wireless setup utility will automatically open after the adapter has been configured. Find your wireless network in the "Wireless networks found in your area" and select "Next". Then verify this information on the next screen.

7) Connect the laptop to the printer through the wireless network. Now, disconnect the USB cable. Make sure that both the laptop and printer are connected to your network. If they are, you're now set up.

I dropped my laptop and now when I press the power button the battery light flashes orange and it won't turn on. It didn't fall far and no pieces broke off. I tried removing the battery and power chord...

That was good thinking just to remove the battery and put it back in. Are you sure that when you look at where the battery makes connection to the connector in the slot that neither the battery or the point where it connects is damaged?

Take the battery out plug in the AC Adapter. Then try and turn it on. It should run without the battery if its plugged in. So you isolate your problem to the battery hopefully. I have seen batteries get damaged internally from being dropped a short distance.

Hopefully once you get it powered you dont have Hard Drive problems.

Hello.

If you are not getting total power, the most common reasons are the power adapter/cord and power jack.

If you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem.

The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement.

If no change, the power adapter is probably faulty and needs replacement.

Hope this helps.
