I have the DEH-49001B head unit and SIR-PNR2 receiver. About 2 months ago my system started with the "Acquiring Signal" message. I've had the antenna moved and then replaced entirely. This got me a signal for about 5 minutes and then it went right back to "Acquiring Signal".

Worked great for 6 months. Then an intermittent acquiring signal message.
Would work when I played with the antenna input or "tapped" on the unit.
Became more frequent and now works off and on but not more than a few minutes at a time. fiddling with the antenna does not help anymore. If I remove antenna jack, antenna error shows.

I was told by Pioneer that you need to request an Advance Replacement through an authorized dealer, I am still waiting for mine to come in... what a waste of time & money...

I've have the same problem with my PNR2. It's my second unit with the same problem. I've called Pioneer and they will replace the unit but I just hope it's with the new model which is built by Directed Electronics.

Sirius satellite radio constantly shows "acquiring signal"

it could be the connection on the back of the reciever that could be bad. I would call sirius and see if your reciever is under warranty still, if not i can almost garauntee that your tuner antenna input is bad, if your antenna is brand new.

Sirius sportster sp-tk1, always displays "acquiring signal"

Sirius does not stand behind their products, There is no out of warranty repair for their radios,  and they do not offer sites for repair. Seems  like this is a definite problem with this model. Their solution is to buy a new radio,(with all the new-docking,boombox etc) accessories. also they charge $75.00 to change to the new radio.I liked my sportster 1 because of the FM modulator. It just had to be centrally located and all the radios in my home picked it up(no docking) the new radios require $50.00 docking stations for each stereo location and radio location, unless you bring a boombox everywhere, and the sound isn't the same.    I feel there should be a class action lawsuit against Sirius for these reasons and I might look into it. What do all you think?

New anteena.

Honestly, There most likely right. It happens more often than you'd think. Try unplgging the brain for a minute with the power off then turn the radio back on after youv'e plugged it back in. It may just need to reinitialize but I doubt it.

Static sound

Some Pioneer radios allow for seperate audio controlls between FM CD and External sources like you Sat Radio. It may be that your settings are out of wack (Prob the factory setting which is crap), try that out and let me know.
