Question about Lexmark X4550 Multifunction Wireless Color Inkjet Printer

After reinstalling software I get this error messages everytime I try to print. "Color table is missing. You must uninstall and reinstall the printer software." Have reinstalled about 10 times now with latest drivers for mac OSX 6 but doesnt work.

The error happens when the Lexmark Printer Driver v2.2 Software Update is installed first before the printer driver from the installation disk or web download.     It could be a security encryption issue or interference. Make sure to use the correct security encryption of your wireless network, if you have one. Remove any interference, e.g. microwave oven or cordless phone, from the printer. If this doesn't help, maybe it's best to contact Lexmark technical support to further investigate the problem. COLOR PRINTING PROBLEM


Have a look at your printer software settings. You may have it set to black and white only. There may also be a driver that was missed during installation to allow colour printing. Try reinstalling the software.

INkCartrige error 50c. Will not print. Display this note each time I try to make copy or print from computer.

You should always mention the printer model as well as what operating system you use.

This is what i found on LEXMARK's website about your error, and it seems you have one or 2 faulty cartridges, or you are using compatible cartridges instead of Lexmark Originals:

Problem Error messages; Error: "Cartridge Error 50C"; Cartridge error; Black cartridge missing; Color cartridge missing Solution Cartridge Error 50C
Your print cartridge has shorted.

  1. Power off your All-in-One and unplug it.

  2. Plug in your All-in-One again and turn it on.

  3. Uninstall and then reinstall your cartridges.

  4. If this does not resolve the issue, try the troubleshooting steps for the other cartridge errors below.

Error: Black Cartridge Missing
The black cartridge is not installed. (Install cartridge PN 82)
Error: Color Cartridge Missing

Cartridge Error

Have put in a new colour cartridge but the note on the printer comes up error 50C

I have a Lexmark x1100 Series printer and cannot print anything now. This printer has been working but it stopped printing. Do not have the CD.


Need more info. Any error messages? Did it just stop pumping ink on paper. Are you trying to print black text or color picture? If no error, your cartridges may be empty. If black text does not work, try color picture. Usually one cartridge goes empty and the other still has ink. If color pic prints replace black cartridge. If neither black or color prints at all, it may be a toasted printhead

If you need to reinstall the software, uninstall it, then go to lexmark.com and get new drivers from their site. RESTART COMPUTER! Reinstall from the downloaded file.

If all the above fail to make it work, it is hosed, shop for new printer.
