Question about Cameras

1 Answer

Hi, Can I know what is the problem with my Sony Cybershot DSC-W110 memory card slot? I slot it in but it keeps asking me to re-insert my memory card. Now I can't take a single picture because the camera couldn't detect my memory card in it.

OK, try Formatting FAT32 On a PC, with an adapter. Then put in camera. Or it maybe faulty, and or the camera cannot "Detect" it properly.. Again sometimes a "Format" will make it work again, anything that was on the card will be erased though by formatting.. If there is data on the card you will need to try and recover with a PC first before formatting. If you cannot format or read on a PC then it is definitely faulty.

Thanks alot silverdragon for your kind help..

I connected the camera (with the memory card in it) onto my PC. But it couldn't detect my memory card so i can't format it.

But if I take out the memory card, I can still see the internal memory of my camera from my PC.

Does that really mean my camera is faulty? :(
or could it be the memory card who is faulty?

No, the DSC-W110 does not support SDHC cards. You have to stay with Memory Stick Pro Duos.

I have the sony cybershot camera DSC-W110 and I have lost my cord that allows pictures to be uploaded to my computer. How else can I upload pictures to my computer?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Can I charge my Sony Cybershot Dsc-w110 using my computer?

I'm sorry to inform you that the Sony W Series Cameras does not have the feature to charge by connecting to a Computer. It is required to use the supplied battery charger to charge battery of the Camera.

Thanks for understanding.

Please let me know if you require any clarifications.

Sony Cybershot dsc-w110 won't turn on ?

OK you are probably going to think I am loony giving you this advise But No I am completely sane!

Get a can of compressed air OR acces to a compressor at your local garage Get them to fit the triggered air blower tool to it.

Blow around the lens in all the extension joins the firmly slap it in the palm of you hand with the side of the camera making contact with you palm. Do the procedure two or 3 times and inbetween the slaps turn it on to activate the lens mechanism. I have now fixed about 80 of these cameras with this method. I obtained the fix from Sony who charge $90 to do exactly the same. Keep at it as it will eventually work. One tip, make sure the battery is charged before you do this.

Displays file error message when trying to playback still images and video footage

Did you take the card and insert into computer/device to view photos?

Viewing photos can alter the format of the photos thereby preventing your camera from reading them.

I viewed some photos and rotated a few photos and my camera no longer recognizes the format.

good luck

You can clean the contact points inside the camera with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol. If this does not correct the problem than it needs to be repaired
