If the password is only an issue in the application "Mail", there is nothing wrong with your mac. Whatever application you use for your mail program (Mac Mail, Entourage), it has to be configured to send/receive your email. Depending on who you have your email account with, I suggest going to your webmail first. If you are able to log into your webmaill without a problem, you may need to reconfigure your Mail account. Your webmail password will be the same as your Mail password to retrieve your email.

Transferring you iPhoto Library requires the same version of iPhoto on each. Then you can just move the "package" from one to the other. It appears as a package in the latest versions but inside is a directory hierarchy. Older versions used the file system for this. The package keeps you from messing with the files and internal links. Depending on your collection you may need a real disk and not just a flash drive.
To transfer the photos themselves only requires exporting from one machine and importing on the other. However, you then lose any comments, folders, and anything but the photos. You may want to be sure to send the copy with red-eye correction... or you will have to do it again. Do it a folder at a time.

Justin I suppose the easiest way to do this would be to insert your system disk into your ibook boot it up holding down the c key on your keyboard and then instal a fresh system. Use the erase and instal option as this will erase your hard drive. Any other queries get back to me, hope this helps. By the way a step by step way of doing this can be found at http://macs.about.com/od/leopard105/ss/installleopard.htm although it's leopard it should be similar across system.
