Press and hold the power button for fifteen seconds or so, ignoring any "Shut down?" prompts, until it turns off. Release the button, then press and hold it for a second or two until it starts to reboot.

Need code for my vizio tv i bought a ihip remote control for my tv

The instructions on letting the Hipi remote to seach for the code that came with my remote are not correct. I used the instructions from HOWTO.COM and printed below. There are two changes from the printed instructions. The first is to push the <TV> button after the <Code Search> button. The second is that the <Enter> button saved the code not the <MUTE> button.

Instructions
1
Turn on the Vizio TV.
2
Aim the Jumbo Universal Remote at the Vizio TV and hold down the "Code Search" button on the remove for roughly 3 to 5 seconds. The LED lights on the Jumbo Universal Remote will come on.
3
Press the "TV" button at the top of the Jumbo Universal Remote.
4
Start pressing the "ON/OFF" button repeatedly until the Vizio TV turns off. (This took only a few tries for my Vizio TV)
5
Press "Enter" on the remote immediately after the Vizio TV turns off to save the code.
6
Test the Jumbo Universal Remote by trying to control the Vizio TV with the remote. If the control doesn't work with the remote, repeat the entire process.

I have an VP322HDTV10A 32"

Take a look at the second half of this solution.
SOLUTION

I had a similar problem. I had a 52" RCArear projection tv. It would do this when I initially turned on the television, but then after a few "on/off, on/off, on/off" cycles it would stay on. Eventually it started doing it more; until finally there was a spark and that was it. The tv was dead. The bloggers called it "the blinking green light of death" (because of green light on the panel). The power board is going out.ALSO holding down the Input and Menu buttons afterward will give you some diagnostic information via 2 sets of blinking indicator lights.

You may very well have issues with capacitors on this set being that it is or very similar to the V26 chassis. Since I have spare test lamps laying around, I would normally try that first. If the lamp still would not stay lit, I would then suspect the electrical chassis (capacitors). When I suspect the chassis, I can usually verify it by pulling it out and partially disassemble it and find blown capacitors

The tv is 2 years old. it would turn off after turning on by itself. this happened for 2 days. it would stay on afetr you turned it on a couple times. then the next day wouldnt turn on at all

Had the same issue with my Vizio Plasma VP322HDTV10A. At power up it would turn on and off a number of times before it would stay on. In thinking it might be the power cord, I pulled it out and replaced it with a spare I had and it would not power up what so ever. I opened up the case and traced the the internal power coord to it's source and this lead to the main power supply board. I found three capacitors on this board with buldges on them (which the tops of the capacitors should be flat). I found a web side (SHOPJIMMY.COM) which had the parts I needed to repair the TV myself. the following is how much it cost to replace the needed parts

Vizio has been plagued with problems because of cheap capacitors they used in their TV's. The culprit is CAPXON capacitors. As they go bad you will see a bulge on the top of the capacitors, once they totally fail your TV will not turn on at all. When you have time, open the back and inspect the capacitors, looking for the ones that have a bulge. You will need to replace these things, they cost about 50 cents each from places like Mouser electronics. Look for low impedance and same dimensions and capacitor value as the ones that are warping.

After having and fixing the same problem I will not buy vizio again. I would have preferred to just replace the whole power supply on mine, but I found out that you can't get boards unless you want to pay 100++ for used boards. So I just replaced the capacitors that were warping for about 1.50 plus 5.00 for S/H.

When you buy replacement caps, look for caps that are made in USA or Japan.

Have a Vizio VX37L that when it is turned the

HERE'S THE FIX: I just went through this with my Vizio VX37L. TV is stuck in RGB input. This is the fix.... TV is stuck in RGB input.
(option 1) Power on TV, and press the INPUT button repeatedly and rapidly until you can change to a different input, such as AV.
If that doesn't work, try:
(option 2) With the TV off, press and hold the INPUT button on the side of the TV for about 5 seconds. The TV should power on and the input list will appear. The TV will no longer be locked, and the INPUT button should function properly after that.

Option 2 worked for me!
