The F61 message is the Panasonic equivalent to "protect". See the link below for an explanation of protect mode. Specific to your system, there is an amplifier IC that has likely failed. Depending upon the model, this IC can cost between $75 and $100. Please post the model and I'll provide the part number and cost.

Thanks,
Dan

Does this happen when nothing is connected to the system at all? Try removing all sources that are connected to the receiver and see. If so then there may be something wrong with your receiver/amplifier.

When I turn on, inmediatelly turn off it. It's said F61

F61 usually means the amp has detected a short or a severe microprocessor error.

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'nekkid'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Repeated F61 fault code on Panasonic Home cinema system Model: SC-HT990 Is it the fan in the sub woofer?

Hello

F 61 error means the failure of FAN
most probably dust in the fan made it to stop working so clean the dust and connect the fan to an external supply of 12v(using red and black wire) for 5 minutes and reconnect it to the unit otherwise replace the fan with new one.
Surely this will solve the problem.

Kind regards
Andrea

F61 error code

Sorry to hear about your error code F61

This code refers to a High Limit Temp. condition.
This is most likely caused by the cooling fan.
If the Fan has stopped running or not running at full speed, you will recv. this error message and the temp. reaches high-end limit.
Please check the cooling fan, any possible air flow restrictions and correct running RPM.

Hope this information has helped you.
Readers, please rate your technicians information.
Thanks,
John Ray

Panasonic home cinema model sa-ht75 . shows f61 disconnet output ic ,still shows f61

Hi,

F61 error codes could either be IC501 or the regulator (IC502) in the power supply section.

For reference, pls view these two (2) posts here and here of similar concern on other models.

Other possibilities are:
1. fan not turning;
2. cold solder;
3. looses connections;
4. one of the other components/systems hooked up to the power supply is causing a fault (tuner, disc player).

Hope this be of additional help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

SHOW ''F61''

This is error code which system control detected either power irrgularities or dc voltage is detected from the speaker out put line.This fault we have noticed that both of them appears same time also.Pls change Amplifier ic TDA8920 and C1740 transistor and 27V1w zener diode.Transistor and zener diode is for voltage regulation and amp ic if the dc detect is active.Usualy change this three components same time.(this all is in power amp section)
