There's a problem with your headset, check your headset, it was your mic is not working try another headset. Or download and install audio drivers for your PC with the specific model upon downloading.

You need to download the audio drivers from the Compaq/HP WEB support/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the XP or Vista Windows version of the drivers you require and install them. Click on this link to download the drivers: -

I downgraded my presario v3000 from vista to XP..it was succesful but i lost my audio...i can only hear sound when i use my blue tooth

For that you need to install sound driver.
Click here
Click on above link and select your os and model then download audio driver and install then it will work fine.

I jst formatted my pc and i have got builtin headphones as i got my compaq laptop...i cant speak on skype..when i call a person on skype they cant hear my voice

update microphone drivers!
and check skype micropfone settings.

uninstall current sound driver. install original sound driver first before you install modem & bluetooth.

you have to reinstall the device drivers please check in your resorces cd which came with your laptop or please check there web sie to down load the drivers and install it and every thing will be fine

The audio system doesn't work

You have a problem with your sound driver. Try to install it if you have the CD of your sound driver. Check in the Device Manager if it is properly installed or if there is a missing driver for the audio. You can download the driver also from the website of the Model/Brand of your Laptop.

Check that the volume control is not muted by going to control panel -- audio -- volume control and untick the mute button.

Otherwise try to reload the sound driver in control panel -- audio -- advanced - update driver
