Question about Trendnet TEW652BRP 300 Mbps WiFi N router (710931600391)

Status and wlan litght flashing on router. Internet is working on main computer but not on the wireless set up for the laptop. Tried unplugging and letting it reset a number of times and it doesn't work. Cables seem to be in order but there was one coming from the router that wasn't attached to anything yet I can't find a place that I would attach it to either?

windows 7...and yes when I click on the networks they pop up but mine isn't there anymore. This happened to me a couple weeks ago and just turning it off and then on again worked. When I troubleshoot it says that an network cable might be the problem but it looks like everything is where it should be to me but I'm not exactly computer savy lol. The cable is hooked up from my desktop to the modem and then from the modem to the router and also from the destop to the router

Have you enabled the wireless on the laptop first??
If so then you have to "join a network" in doing this you will be asked to type in a WEP key (Security key) to join the network. This key is the one you have secured (Or should have) secured the network with.

Hello there sir, FixYa pro member is on your service!

Well it looks like your wlan output has been blocked somehow, I want you to take your D-Link wireless router behind, notice little restart button on it, press it and hold it for 10 secconds in that position, after that use your router will be on factory settings, then WLAN ports should be automatically opened. If not just check wlan status enabled . Thanks for asking sir have a nice day! :)

Please rate my solution if you have a moment or so, thanks in advance.

There are no lights on for WLAN and Internet spots.

1. There is a configuration issue here.
2. Check the Ethernet cable in the WLAN port on the back of the router.
3. check the wireless setup
1.Log into router. Using either to in a browser window that is ( internet Explorer or Firefox)
2. Verify wireless router name( on the computer) >>> ( on/off) ( router status window)
3.Note router name you are connecting to.
4.. Check the laptop/desktop do ipconfig /all to see current IP addresses.
5. Set the laptop up in the router by WEP KEY or MAC address. This set up in the "security tab" in the router. using or to access through a browser.
6.Note router name you are connecting to.
7. Move the laptop about 20ft away and try to log on to the internet.
This is for all routers to set up wirelessly.
8. check for firmware update at the manufacturers site for your model router
9. cell phones, cordless phones, digital TV's, can affect the data signal from a router. Also distance from the router can be a factor. If your router is in a basement place the router to a upper floor and center it in the room.

Laptops not picking up on wireless signal

You will need to replace the router. This is typical of the failure pattern of all wireless routers. If you continued using the router on the wireless you would begin to notice those connected by wire disconnected and then quickly reconnecting again.

Unfortunetly this is typical of any home grade wireless router after 1-2 years of use or age. About all you can do is to do a hard reset and/or upgrade the router system software. That can regain use of the wifi for a while but it will fail again usually within a few weeks or days.

Best advice is to replace it with a new one. NetGear or D-Links are both reccomended. Linksys is not. If you check out the sales you should be able to find a good replacement for less than what you paid for the one you have giving you trouble. We replace about 2-3 wireless routers a week with these problems. Have tried fixing them even with the factory tech rep on the phone and in the end just ended up junking them.

Router won't broadcast

Use your computer's web-browser to connect to the web-server "inside" the router.
Check the 'WAN' settings -- they seem to be OK, since you have Internet access.
Check the 'Wireless' settings, or just rerun the Wireless Configuration Wizard, to rebuild your wireless network.

RG54G3 won't connect wirelessly or through ethernet.

Well this could be a number of problems but the most popular cause of this problem is out-of-date firmware.

If you visit the manufacturers website and download the firmware it should solve the problem but can't be sure.

The instructions of how to get the firmware update onto the router should be on the website, if not, type your routers IP address into the internet browser e.g. internet explorer, log-in and it should be pretty straight forward from there.

Wireless card in E1505 Dell not finding networks in range

The 1390 WLAN Minicard may not be configured to communicate with your wireless router.
Check the wireless router settings, (check the wireless settings on your other computer) and configure the 1390 WLAN with the same settings eg. SSID, WEP/WAP encryption, etc.
Is MAC address filtering enabled on your wireless router, if so add the MAC address of the 1390 WLAN to the MAC address list in the wireless router.

Check the TCP/IP properties of the 1390 WLAN card the Internet protocol should not have a fixed IP address, set it to Obtain an IP address automatically including the DNS.

Use the Ipconfig command to see the IP configuration of the network cards.

Use the Ping command to see if you can communicate with wireless router.
