Enable Hidden Files: Go To My Computer -> Tools -> Folder Options -> View -> Then scroll for hidden files and folder, enable it.

For Memory Card: Login with administrator account in pc, then click on start -> run -> type, cmd
And support drive for memory card is Z:, run the command

C:\> format z: /fs:FAT32

Then press enter when prompt, it will recreate file system structure & access control list will be removed.

How to remove write-protection on a micro sd card

  1. Connect the microSD card to a computer
Use a memory card reader to connect the microSD card to a computer for formatting. In case you're using an SD card adapter, ensure that the write protection key is in the unlock position.
  2. Locate the card Right-click My Computer, and click Manage. Go to the Disk Management tab on the left pane, and locate your microSD card from the list of available disks.
  3. Format the microSD card Right-click on the microSD card's drive, and click Format. This eliminates all data, including corrupted files that cause write protection in storage devices

Password memory card

If you do not need any data on the memory card, you can go to "My Computer", and it should show up as an icon of 2GB capacity. You can right click on the icon and select "Format" and it erase all the data thats on the card. Select "Fat 32" when ask for type of format for data storage. If it comes up"Write Protected", remove the card and slide the switch on the side of the card and try again.

Remember, formatting removes all data on the card.

My sandisk is failing to format even to delete items which are inside it is saying disk is right protected whilst it is not protected

Hello Sean,

Please try to format the SD card using the SD Formatter 3.0 for SD/SDHC/SDXC. The software formats all SD memory cards, SDHC memory cards.

Download the software from the link provided below :

Formatting time it shows write protected error

SD cards nad microSD adaptors have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

I bought a 2GB microSD memory card and adaptor (wake up your phone) im trying to put music onto it from my computer downloads but it just keeps saying, This Disk Is Write-Protected

There is usually a 'lock' on those adapter cards that might be enabled. However, if you haven't formatted the card to your phone you may wish to do so, otherwise it may not work in your phone. Put the MicroSD card into your phone, go to Menu > Settings > Memory > Options to format your card.
Then put in the adapter, check the lock setting, and reinsert.

My sd card says it's write-protected and i don't know how to fix it or where to remove the write-protection because i never put one on. It won't let me delete or put new songs or pictures on it.

Two causes that I've run across one is the slider is in the wrong spot just need to move it to unlocked or the card has become corrupted which means you need to format it. Usually happens when you go from one OS to another to load stuff or if you formatted it on a device that doesn't quite format it right.

To reformat put it in the card reader in your pc and under my computer find the card. Might show as a usb mass storage is you use a card reader or sdcard if you have it built in. Right click and format. You can sometimes copy your data off of the card first but most of the time you will see card or device not ready which means you won't be able to. So all you can do is reformat.

Re-format it. Put the SanDisk 2GB microSD memory card into your LG enV2 and format it from there. If that does not work plug it into your laptop then right click the icon and format it to FAT and click on default settings.

Unlock 1 GB micro sd memory card of Kingston Made

Hey bro, im sorry to inform you that there is no way to recover your memory card without losing your data. But if you are fine with losing your data, then try this out.
Put your microSD in a nokia E-Series phone. I'll suggest the E-65. Now, go to the memory card in the TOOLS folder and select options, and choose FORMAT MEMORY CARD. It will ask you for your confirmation, press yes if you want to, and it will format your card and remove the password. I hope this works for you. I've tried it and it worked for me !! Cheers !
