Cannot display on monitor

If your PC gives single normal beep while booting then try connecting your monitor to another working PC. If it doesn't display then check the VGA cable by replacing it with new one. If the beep is not normal then tell us the beep behaviour.

1 short beep : Normal POST - system is ok
1 long, 2 short beeps : Display adapter problem (MDA, CGA)
if u're still hearing 1 long and 2 short beeps then try to swap the MDA, CGA adapter around, if it is ok then that is the problem...MDA and CGA is just like the VGA card they supplements each other. replace MDA/CGA card with another then see.

Hey my computer turns on all three fans are spinning and i hear a beep and then nothing no display nothing its really annoying ps:im no expert at computers so i dont no what the single beep means or...

One beep is good. Multiple beeps is not good.

Most likely you have a loose connection.
Generally if not the connection, the monitor has gone dead.
Possibly you have a defective Video Card
Unfortunately, you may have a defective System.

The first two are generally the cause of such problems.

Check all your connections in the back of the machine. A large Blue or White rectangular connector should be going to the back of the machine, these are color coded so the plug will go in, only one direction in only one port.

After making sure you are connected check your monitor power cable, assuming you get no Lights on the monitor at all.

After that: You may have to assume that either the monitor is dead, or that the video portion of the system is dead. This would require that you either replace the Video Card in the machine. If you get more then one single beep, you may have this problem

This will require that you replace the System Board, if you are getting more then one Single beep you may have this problem.

Please let us know when all the connections are in order, so we can better diagnose the issue.

Good Luck

Do you have a POST beep? Meaning a single beep signifying initial diagnostics are okay.

Do you get a beep at startup? A single beep means it passed initial diagnostics.

Compaq Presaio S4200NX displays Compaq Splash Screen then a single continuous beep with but nothing else.

Most Compaq desktop that exhibits 1 long never ending beep indicates Memory error; Bad RAM. Corrective measure therefore would be replace and test.

You can try removing the memory and cleaning the gold pins with a pencil eraser and try again. If this doesn't work, guess you're back to replacing.

Good luck and kind regards.
