The brushes have probably gone sometimes it will work sometimes it wont when it does it will make a burring sound from the motor as it is trying to make a contact try shaking it while in spin it may start up then stop then you will know.

Replace the inlet solenoids. They are where the hoses attach to at top back of machine. Dead easy replacement. Couple of screws and a tubing clamp

Hotpoint wma62 keeps blowing the fuse in plug started week ago would go couple times then blow another fuse now when i switch on blows it straight away

I assume that you have the correct amperage fuse fitted, and that the plug and socket are o/k.
I would start by unplugging the motor lead from the motor, if it still blows, remove the leads from the heater
.If it still blows, then it could any one of a number of things.
However, there is more than a good chance, it will be the heater or motor.
If it is the motor that has caused the problem then before you do anything about it, check the control module in the top of the washer,as there is a very strong possibility that it will have blown the board, I have come across this on many occasions.
This being the case, then it is not going to be economical to repair.
Hope this helps.

My Electrolux washer is only 6 months old and the drum has started squeaking. What could the problem be?

NOT Solution - I just bought one last week and it squeaked for me today. Sounded like a belt. As the washer added more water to the drum to soak the clothes, the squeak went away. So not sure if belt slightly out of alignment - hence it rubs or perhaps a roller knob needs adjustment is what I am thinking.

Hotpoint WMA62 door will not lock

Sounds like the door lock switch has failed, normally they go bang when fail, they start the machines cycle so are important, when door is shut it should click, this engages a timer which keeps door locked switch is live at mains potential, cant be tested have to be replaced about 12 pounds cost, best for a tech unless you feel competent

Drum on my wma62 won't turn

Hi.

The main drum bearigs have failed, you have to disconnect everything you can to enable you have to
remove the whole drum and container through the top of the m/c.
It is quite an involved repair, and could prove to be expensive. more so if the drum shaft is worn.
Good luck.
if you need any further info, let me know

WMA62

Have you checked to see that the waste is not blocked? THis is very common on these machines and causes the pressure switch not to operate, making the machine fail to spin or spin with water in the drum, causing unbalance symptoms.
This is extremely common on Hotpoint machines without a accessible filter. The filter is in the rubber waste pipe under the drum and needs to be removed to be cleaned out. When iti s blocked it also blocks the chamber that operates the pressure switch.
