I bought a Hiti P510S printer in the USA and brought it to the Philippines. I have used this printer before in the Philippines with just minor problem like paper jamming ang out of ribbon error messages which is common. After loading paper and ribbon for the new printer I bought in the USA, I encountered new error message saying "unsupported ribbon" where I looked up in the instruction manual, it says only buy original ribbon and paper from authorized distributor or dealer for compatibility issue with the machine, I believed there is a chip that read if the ribbon that is loaded is not from authorized dealer. But the ribbon and paper I loaded to the printer that I bought from USA is a original one which I bought from local hiti distributor. Is there a problem buying a machine from USA or the Philippines with exactly the same specs using local hiti ribbon and paper? How can i solve the error message "unsupported ribbon".

    simple solution just install new driver 518s,

    device and printer add new printer, have disk go to the folder driver look for 518s driver install

Just out of curiosity, has anyone found a solution to the problem??I just bought 10 boxes of NA (north american) stock to find that it's not compatible with my GB printers that I bought direct from Taiwan.Anyone has any solution to flashing the firmware or the chip on the ribbons...?

    I've heard that updated firmwares now accept all papers. Not sure yet. Will pay to see.

HITI support mentioned if you live in North America then you need to purchase supplies from an authorized NA distributor or supplier. We received our photo booth from China who gave us a EU/european version and when we bought supplies from Canada they didn't work. The HITI rep read the part number of my printer and he told me thats a UK printer and can only take european supplies. I asked if he could ship me some from California/Walnut and he said impossible!
Hiti tech support can change the mother board for you for around $200 and it will be a compatible NA printer so you can purchase supplies from any USA/Canada authorized reseller.
Just add a note to yourself if your buying any kind of photo booth or HITI printer from someone make sure its the NA region printer so you can easily purchase supplies from anyone in the USA.

Same problem overhere, bought a P510S from DPS in the Netherlands and the consumables from an other supplier, also in the Netherlands... this doesn't work because the printer from DPS has GB firmware and doesn't accept the European consumables

This sort of nonsense is a reminder to me not to buy any more HITI products. I bought a 420 as a test. I don't like this sort of silly behaviour as it is an artificial constraint.

The problem is that Hiti place a region code on their printers and ribbions. So for you in Phillipines you need a US ribbon since it's a US printer... you'll see it on the firmware version on the printer.

I have the opposite problem, I have a printer from the Phillipines that's a 'GB' global region, but bought 'US' ribbons, not sure of the solution, but if you willing to trade I can feel free to email me and we can trade specs of the printers and verify the firmware... mtungol@hotmail.com

I have a Hiti P510s printer it has been in the storage container for a few months. It was working fine when I last used it but now it won't print anything.


when in storage unless temperature controled the heat gets too hot for the toner/ink, will ruin the toner/ink and the film cartridge

You may have upgraded to the wrong firmware, you can try to go back to the original and see if it works. If you turned it off during FW upgrade, not good!
