I downloaded DirectX and verified its working properly. But my web cam still doesn't work. I also downloade Windows XP Prof Service Pack 3cd and nothing. Driver detective only scans, you have to pay for the download of this one.

I would appreciate your expertise. The camera is correctly installed, but it needs KSTVTUNE.ax. Where can I get a free download. Thank you.

Hi
Its a problem with DirectX . Either it is not installed correctly or currupted.
So you have to resolve DirectX issue first
1) Put Windows XP Cd and choose to Repair system which will try to fix error
2) Else you can download latest version of Microsoft site (Validation is reuired)

I have a sony vaio 2009 notebook and i do not know how to access my webcam for free to take pictures and videos how do i access it?

Hi cadijah495,

You can use the VAIO Camera Capture Utility Software installed in the Computer to capture images and record Videos. You can access the VAIO Camera Capture Utility from "Start", "All Programs", VAIO Camera Utility and clicking the VAIO Camera Capture Utility.

If the Application is not available in your Computer, you can re-install it from the below link.

http://s02.download.sony.com/US/pc/SOOOTH-36900000-US.EXE

Please open the above link in a new web browser window to download the file. Then, please save the file on the Desktop. After that, please double click on the downloaded file to begin the installation. After installing the file, please restart the Computer for the settings to take the effect.

Hope this helps.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or require any further assistance.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Need Windows XP Service Pack 3 kstvtune.ax

Got a web camera. Didn't work. Said, I needed "kstvtune.ax" and a couple other small files. Couldn't find them anywhere, or downloadable versions. Listened to a lot of advice on blogs. Nothing worked. Finally, I went to the Microsoft Website and downloaded Service pack 3 AGAIN for Windows XP, from scratch. Takes time to download, even at high speed, but it's worth it. First try my camera worked beautifully. THIS IS THE FREE FIX THAT REALLY WORKS! It will get you all the files you need, which may have been knocked off by virus scans, or whatever caused the lack of files for your web camera. Go do it!

Intel easy pc camera driver problem

Normal 0 Did you install the software with the camera connected to the computer? Disconnect the camera from the USB port and reinstall the software. When the program asks you to connect the camera, do so, and it should work. Hope this is of some help. Bud

Below is info for setting up Audio & Video to chat on line after you install , either Skype or a messenger program.

Web Camera’s have to be setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.
A. Skype Setup:
After downloading and installing Skype set it up as follows:
  1. Go to TOOLS, then OPTIONS, and click on Audio Settings and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
  2. Then click on the Video Settings.
  3. The camera if installed properly will come up and show a picture.
  4. Then on the bottom of the page click on Save.
The camera and audio should function properly. Your friends and Family will now see and talk to you.
B. Yahoo Setup:
After downloading and installing Yahoo Messenger set it up as follows:
  1. Go to Messenger at the top left and click on it.
  2. Next go down to Preferences and click on it.
  3. Next Calling and Devices on the right and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
  4. Next go to the Test Audio section and (in blue writing) click on “Open the call setup assistant” and follow the instructions on the left window.
When done both the Audio and Video will function properly so you can chat and see family or friends you are connected to.
Hope this helps. Bud
