This is generally how your format the hard disk and install Windows.

Give the SSID name of your wireless, that you find when you search for available wireless networks, and use your wireless key/password that you entered during wireless set up.

tried to hooked up the LAN cable directly to the modem bypass the router if you can get an internet access there.

Unplug the modem network cord from the router, make shure nobody need internet access at the time.

Then access the 192.168.1.1, and it should be the router.
In the Router GUI, change it's address to somethign else.
(192.168.1.X) where X= something between 2 and 254)

Save settings and plug the modem back into the router.

In order to play MP3's you will need to compile and install the " lame " audio codec's.
You will also need to install codec's to play back video.
You will also need to install Wine to run windows EXE's within linux.

To install A large package containing the most popular codecs

I believe you need to install the livna repository if you have notalready done so. The instructions for doing so are located here : Livna
Then you can install with yum
amarok-extras-non-free
you may also need to install
gstreamer
gstreamer-plugins-bad
gstreamter-plugins-ugly
and perhaps some others .. just do a yum list | grep gstreamer
or
yum -y install yumex
and you can use yumex [gui for yum] to search
