Kenmore 600 Series Dryer heating element comes on, but will not shut off. What should we do?

With your dryer not running, touch the to surface. If it is to hot to tough then, iIt is your elements. I know this sounds weird, but one of your elements is touching the grounding housing and making a connection. This is not safe to use. I recommend to unplug it or through the breaker to it, until you get it fix.
