as it says "an error has occured- no valiid devices were found on which to create new file systems.
please check ur hardware for the cause of ths problem"
what can be d cause of this problem and how can i fix it?

Hi parug1987 - A hard drive always has to be partitioned to be able to work. So when you got the notebook the hard drive had to be partitioned even if it just had one partition. A partitioned hard drive doesn't mean it has to have more than one partition. What operating system are you trying to install?

Erased hard drive, how can install os without the disk?

You would require an installation media to re-install OS, So you can't do it without CD or USB thumb drive with installation file. You can call dell @ 8006249896 and ask them for OS disk, If you wouldn't have received with the computer, they will be sending it to you free of cost and it will only take 2 to 3 business days for you to receive those than you can re-install OS.

The computer cant find a bootable device. Either your boot sector on your Hard drive is gone/damaged (most likely a virus) or the Hard drive failed. Start with booting with your windows disk and try to do a repair installation.

Problem installing OS

I think Partition Magic 8 screwed up the hard drive. I suggest, try a different hd, or if you don't have one, go to and get like a 5 or 10GB hd and try that, cause if it works with a different hd, it proves that Partition Magic 8 screwed up the drive. Anything else, try a new IDE or SATA cable cause sometimes they go bad. try a different OS cd. Anything else I could say is bring it to a local computer store and see what they can do.
