Fixing the hum: Check that the multiway connector inside (has 8 blue wires) that connect the rear PCB is fitted OK, there have been cases, that it has been pulled out by the cable tie on one end (the earth end) on the main board - fix by cutting the tie and dumping the remains, resite the connector....

Klh powered subwoofer model ASW10-120B... when you plug in to power... it makes a loud buzzing/humming noise

I would check the caps on the power supply. They are rather large electrolytic capacitors that will look like they burst and/or leaking. When these die, the caps ground and the sub will make a loud buzzing sound. If you are handy with a soldering iron you can replace them yourself. Replace them with the same voltage or a little bigger and same with the size.

If the cap. says 16v 4700pF on it, for example, a 20v 5300pF or a 16v 6200mF cap. will work for this application.

Guitar amp continuous humming from speaker

Firstly, do not disconnect the speakers from the amp when it is on. Damage is possible.

You have a bad ground somewhere in the hookup. The first suspect would be your guitar-to-amp cord shielding connections at each plug, then, the wiring in your guitar. Try changing each of these to another as a trial, one at a time.

SX BA1565 amplifier - loud hum when powering up. No amplifying function with an input - hum all the way!

Power amp chip or transistor has shorted to one of the power supply rails. Do not use until repaired as it is likely driving high DC current into the speaker.

Likelly the TDA7293 chip in the power amp has failed. It shorts to one power rail and drags the power down where it hums... this CAN damage the speaker if left on. Verify the problem and replace the chip. Slight chance there are bad electrolytic filter caps but those are easily spotted.

I have a pair of JM lab Electra 905 speakers, running through a DNM amp and power amps. When powered up, the left speaker makes a very loud humming noise. This has happened recently. I haven't changed...

Hello
Switch on your amp, keep its volue down to extreme low, and listen if there is still hum through the left channel or not. If still there is hum, the left side power amplifier section inside the amp;ifier is faulty. If htere is no hum at this state, hum enters thorugh the audio input terminal, and the input wires must be checked for open sheild connection. OK.

On power up there is a loud humming even with volume at 0

I would also be inclined to check all the larger electrolytic capacitors in the power circuits as well for AC bleed.

Guitar amp make large crescendo-like noise, loud pop at end.

Same loudness, no speaker? This sounds (no pun intended) like a filter capacitor shorting out. Open it up and VERY CAUTIOUSLY look for what is making the noise. Filter capacitors can eject hot stuff. Very dangerous.

Crate RFX65 solid state guitar amp has power but no sound

Sounds like the amp has developed a problem. If you had it LOUD then you may have popped a speaker or an output stage. You say it still makes the plugging in noise, what happens when you touch the end of the jack lead whilst plugged into the amp. do you get a burst of clean hum?
