Question about Frigidaire Ovens
I have a Frigidaire self-cleaning gas oven that is 5 - 6 years old. Unfortunately, I've lost the paperwork and do not know the model number. For years I cleaned the oven manually and only used the self-cleaning option for the first time this past weekend. Unfortunately, when the cleaning cycle ended and the oven cooled down the oven door remained locked. The word "Locked" appears in red under the time in the time display window. The "Bake" and "Clean" functions are on the left of this disply and "Cancel" is on the right. Even though we have tried pushing "Cancel" and even repeating the "Clean" cycle the oven door remains locked.
Door lock motor has probably failed.....Self clean on many
ovens can be a self destruct mode. Door latch motors, sensor
probes and even the electronic controls can be destroyed by
this operation. On many freestanding stoves the lock motor is located in the right rear (looking from the front) with a long rod connected to the lock. remove the motor and unhook the rod from the motor cam. Sometimes bending a coat hangar into a hook and sliding from the right side into the lock you can unlock the door.

Tips for a great answer:
Thank you for your post, Jewell!
From the information you have provided you would like a manual for your Frigidaire oven. I would be happy to research and see if that information is available. In order to research for any available manuals I would need your model number. You can locate the serial tag (which lists your model number) on the door frame of your oven or on the inside left hand wall. Once I have that information I would be able to better assist you. -Matt

Hello jeffreyandje - Do you have the exact model number so I can provide you instructions on how to use the self-clean mode? Meanwhile, the manual and operating instructions can be found on the manufacturer link. I will recommend taking off the last letter of the model number so you can pull up the information.
