Unable to detect memory card in my star its not detecting the memory card but when im going to the memory status its showing the memory card but if i click the memory card im getting a message like this"memory card has aunrecognised format. reformating will erase all data continue" if i say yes its getting error i checked even my friends memorycards im geting the same problem and my memory card is fine condition i checked with a other phone and i formated it but problem is not solved plzz some one help me

If the flash drive is not detected, it means there is damage to hardware.

Flassh drive hardware malfunction, there are two types
1. Cracked solder.
Solution: Open the flash drive casings, heat the tin solder.

2. Resistor (R) broken
Solution: Open the casing flash drive, flash drive instead of resistors.

Check the card on your PC to confirm the condition and status of the card, If there is no detection then the card is faulty.
If detected SCAN for Virus and FORMAT. You can load the necessary files to the card to be put back to your phone. If this is not detected on the phone then there is fault in the card reader interface, the holder or the contacts.

Try fix the corrupted file by scanning your memory card in PC or laptop
Remove your Memory Card from your phone and insert it to Card Reader
when your Memory Card is detected in computer go to my computer and right click on the Memory Card then click properties, click tools and click check now, list for fix system for error, then click ok, wait for the process to finish and then defragment your Memory Card by clicking defragment now..

Possible there are corrupt files or the card is infected with virus that prevents it to be detected in your PC. Also if the PC is having virus in the OS then it can show such an error.
You must try to see if the card is detected on another PC to confirm or check with another card on your PC.Only if detected can the card be formatted.
copy and then delete off all files before formatting

Firstly check whether u have inserted memory card correctly . If that is correct then check whether the phone is detecting the card. I think blackberry has an option to check it .

If the phone is detecting the card then check for the free space it is showing on the card . If it is showing the correct space and not showing the contents then switch off and switch on the phone after removing the card .

If the phone is not detecting the card then check the card using a card reader there also if it not getting detected then you need to check the card whether it has some physical problems. If the card is getting detected on the card reader check your phone with some other card and even after that if the same situation exists then you can take your phone to a service center

is your PC detecting the mass storage when connected via usb... if yes, scan it for any potential virus. if no, then you MUST format the memory card.. It is a virus problem. thanks.
