Question about Vizio VF551XVT 55 in. HDTV

1 Answer

After the "Retrieving Data" scrolls down the screen, it just goes black. No sound or picture. I had to hook up the coaxial cable to get any kind of picture. It's the same for all HDMI ports, even the Side. My cables are brand new ($185 ugh). The strange thing is that my PS3 works fine on all the HDMI plugs except for number 4, which is a little fuzzy. I bought the set March of this year. Please help.

Are you talking about the cable box or the tv? I don't see a Signal Booster option in the Menu for the Vizio.

Looks like there are some partial defects in the TV and might need attention of a qualified service technician. Anyhow, make sure that the input cable, RC jacks and sockets all do not have any loose contacts. Go through settings and ensure that every set up is as it should be.

I can't get a picture on my screen, but the auido still works

Make sure the Coaxial cables are hooked up properly. I don't know the HD colors right off hand but the normal colors are [RED Audio][WHITE Audio] and [Yellow Video]. Hope you get it hooked up with videos and sounds soon. Make sure that if your useing regular coaxial cables, your not hooking them into HD slots and Vice Versa

Connecting Dell speaker system to TV or console

Hello,

If you have a coaxial out on your TV and a coaxial in on your Speaker system that is the way to go to experience digital surround sound. Radio Shack, etc. has coaxial cables in the appropriate size. If you go to Radio Shack, etc. bring along your speaker system's model number as well as your TV's model number.

Hope this gets you going.

Wavy lines and jogging TV picture

it could be any of the things you listed, the coaxial output on the dvr, where it says channels 3-4 out, the cable , or the coaxial input port on your tv. the dvd player is probably hooked up with rca cables (red white and yellow) so the reason you dont have the issue with it is because its on a different port, one solution would be to hook your receiver up to the tv using this kind of cable, this would also get you stereo sound, you would then watch dish network programming on a video input channel,
if you want to narrow the problem down, i would suggest hooking a vcr up with the cable thats connected to 3-4 out, play a tape and see if the issue continues, if not the issue is with the dvr, if so try a different coax cable, if this resolves the issue, the issue was the cable, if not unfortunately the issue is your tv
