Car stereo, passenger side crackles sometimes

The passenger side of the stereo sometimes starts crackling. I changed all the speakers. It works fine for about 30 mins. Then all passenger side speakers start crackling. The Head unit is stock--over 15 yrs old. I have no idea why it's doing this ideas?

It may be a bad voice coil. It would make that type noise. If the cone isn't cracked its the coil.

When i turn the volume up to(17-20) my sound cuts out and my speakers make a cracklin noise.i have bought new speakers and rechecked all wires.my speakers are rated at 50 watts rms and my stereo pumps out...

It seems you needs more power to maintain the level of good sound.Maybe the maximum volume is 30 - then the mininum is 15 and you can't hear any cracking sound. If you exceed 15 the minimum, as you said starting 17 - 20 you hear crackling sound .Then you reach ,what they called the "cliping level"so much distortion and crackling sound,your stereo too small to accomodate .You must add a power amplifier so crackling will gone and to fit your listening pressure...

Hope it may help you;

How do i fix speaker problems on my volvo v70?

First take the ones crackling off they might be ripped. If not ripped test them off the car. If they play good require your car system maybe weak or grounded wires. For some reason they want a photo 10_15_2013_8_40_52_pm.png

Crackling

So if you bought enclosures that are premade AND had the speakers installed, you need to see if there is a cross over network installed in them

I have no sound from from stereo. The stereo itself works I just have no sound. Every once and a while the speakers will crackle and i will get sound briefly then its gone. I can't find any loose wires....

i would remove the amp and have it "bench tested"
see speakers surrounds if theyre foam and old and falling apart this could be it as well . check amps ground , it must be solid , see power wire to battery and check connection there and to amps it self

I HAVE NEVER SEEN A LEXUS SETUP BEFORE, SO THIS IS JUST A GUESS, HAVE YOU TRIED REMOVING THE GLOVEBOX IF IT IS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, OR THERE MUST BE SOME PANEL YOU CAN GAIN ACCESS TO THE SPEAKER ON DRIVERS SIDE

Speakers are crackling

This could be caused by one of your speaher wires being shorted out to ground, OR one of the speaker terminals in the doors or rear coming into contact with metal. If you remove the unit and test it with the speakers hooked directly to the back of the unit and they do not crackle, then the unit is fine. If they still crackle - then you either have two diferent sets of bad speakers, Or more than likely the outputs of the kenwood have been damaged by an improper installation in the past.

My car sound system start crackaling when i turn it up. the sub sound fine but my 6x9s crackal and my standard door speakers. p.s only just starting doing it

Sorry to say but if your speakers crackle when you turn them up you need to not turn them up so much or buy new ones. That crackling sound is a blown speaker. It could also be a bad connection but most likely blown or under-driven speakers. Good luck.
