Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

LDS4821ST HE error...new heating element already installed

The manufacturer has assigned this error or fault code to indicate a problem with the water heating circuit. Turn off the circuit breaker to the dishwasher for 30 minutes, allowing time for the appliance to cool; then restart the cycle. If error returns, check the heating element for continuity and check the wiring harness for any obvious signs of damage. If the heating element shows infinite resistance after testing with an Ohm meter, replace it.

Troubleshoot Heating Element

Unplug the heating element. Take volt-ohm meter, set it to continuity and touch a lead to each unplugged wire on the element. If you get a reading (numbers indicating ohms) The element is good if it doesn't show continuity the element is burned out somewhere and needs replacing.

Dryer element has no continuity

The element should show continuity. Isolate it from the machine and test again. If no continuity replace. Disconnect power while doing this.

I have a daewoo dwr-we3011rr dryer and want to be sure my heating element is bad and not another issue. dryer turns on and tumbles fine but has no heat.

Try to find someone who has an ohm-meter or a multi-meter and can take your machine apart and test the heating element. One that is working should show continuity through the element., One with a blown element should show no current flow through the element.
Be blessed.

How do i troubleshoot my kenmore model 110 electric dryer. it does not heat while it tumbles. How do I know for sure that it is the heating element.

ok first unplug dryer on the side of the heating element housing you will see the high limit switch black plastic with a sticker and a metal nose pull the 2 wires off check for continuity with ohm meter should be closed if it reads closed put wires back. Now look for a white ceramic rectangle piece it is a thermal fuse pull the wires and chech continuity if it shows closed it also is good. if either of these show open they need replaced. Now if both showed closed unplug wires from heating element check continuity should read continuity. if open element is broken. Now assuming this all shows good. Then it could be the timer or the centrifical switch on end of motor.

Does not heat. Heating element was replaced and

Check the following to address this issue.

1. A burned out heating element will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Replace the element if found defective.

2. Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

If all checks out OK above, replace the main control board.

Both heating elements in the oven not working. I did inspect the h. elements found no burn. thankyou help

Ok, you can confirm element failuer by testing for continuity with a Ohm meter. A burned out heating element will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Replace the element if found defective.

You can usually tell when the element itself burns out. It might have small holes or bubbles on the coil. Replace the element, if found defective.

Another reason, why the elements would not start, might be a defective infinite switch (located behind the control panel, with the burner knob on its shaft). Replace the switch if found defective.

If the elements show continuity, you will need to replace the entire control board(clock, EOC)..
