How do I hook up a trailer to my 2008 Acura MDX?

most vehicles have the plugins close to the hitch, if your vehicle doesn't have one outside, one it may be inside the tool compartment, in the back. the 1st link is an installation for a 2007 which should be the same. the 2nd link shows the wiring harness if you want to order one & install yourself.

I bought a lark enclosed trailer and it is wired with the 7 pole rv plug and my truck has the 6 pole. i changed the trailer end to a 6 pole, matched the same wiring as my other trailers but the lights on...

Normally all trailers are wired the same. What I think has happend is the new plug has been wired in wrong. The Rv Plugs wiring is differnt than that of a flat four and round six. I would look in the box that you got the plug in a make sure the wires are correct. I can't find a diagram work the wiring but I do know that the brown is the tail lights, red is the brake, yellow is left turn, green is right turn, and the blue wire is the electric brakes. there is also a Aux power I think that is a pink or Bigger gauge red wire.

I have a 6 p0le from the truck to a 7 pole on the camper how do i wire it so the backup lights work? its a 91 camper special

usually the trailer plug isnt wired for backup lights,i guess you will have to wire it manually, check the color of your wire to the backup lights of your truck, locate that wire underneath the back bumper and splice a wire to it to hook to your plug to the trailer.make sure the reverse wire from your trailer matches up with the terminal at your truck

Car to trailer

"Hoppy" makes a real nice converter, and is available at most auto parts stores...the cool thing about the Hoppy units are the fact that you just plug it in, all of the wires interface with the vehicle with exact connectors; no soldering, no cutting or splicing wires. I use this type very regularly. Just make sure you get the one for a vehicle with AMBER TURN SIGNALS; there are 2 different kits. This should cure your problem.
