How to Recover Unsaved and Deleted PowerPoint Files on Mac?

Here are two methods
1. Recover Unsaved PowerPoint on Mac using AutoRecover
Microsoft Office has a fantastic feature called AutoSave; that it can automatically save a temporary PPT copy on a periodic basis.

In order to recover unsaved PowerPoint Mac, you have to enable AutoSave or AutoRecover first. If not, just click the Microsoft Office & follow below guide to turn on or change how frequently PowerPoint files are automatically saved:

Step1. On the PowerPoint menu, click Preferences.
Step2. Click Save, select the AutoSave or AutoRecover info every check box, & then enter a small number in the minute's box to specify how often you want the program to save your data & the program state, like 10. That way, you'll never lose more than 10 minutes of work.

If your Mac crashes & quit your PPT without saving, next time you open PowerPoint, it will automatically recover the autosaved PowerPoint files. & you can follow next path to find & restore unsaved PPT in Mac:

PowerPoint autosave location on Mac: Finder > /Users/ username/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Office/Office X AutoRecovery (X st&s for Office version of your PPT).

2. Recover Lost or Deleted PowerPoint on Mac using Mac Data Recovery Software
If you can't find the unsaved PowerPoint file, it may get lost. You can choose a third-party PowerPoint recovery software to recover lost PowerPoint file on Mac.
Cisdem Data Recovery for Mac is the best Mac data recovery software which can recover files such as office document files, pictures, videos, etc from Mac hard drive & other external storage devices no matter your files get lost.
Then follow the below guide to start your lost or deleted PowerPoint recovery job.

How to perform PowerPoint recovery on Mac?
Step1. Select "Deep Scan" option.
Here I choose "Deep Scan"-it will scan the entire drive to find lost or deleted files like images, Videos, Dcouments including PPT, DOC, PDF, & Excel, etc.
(Tip: If you want to recover PowerPoint document from USB, SD card or external hard drive, please connect it to your Mac in advance.)

Step2. Choose storage device to scan lost PPT files.
After you choose recovery wizard, you will see an interface showing different kinds of storage devices. You can select the drive or device for recovering PowerPoint files. If you only want to recover PPT files, please select "Document".

Step3. Use file filters to find your lost PPT file quickly.
Click "Setting" in the lower left corner. Then select your lost file type such as .ppt & unselect other irrelevant file types. This is optional & it helps find your lost PowerPoint file quickly & saves you much time. Click "Scan" to allow this PowerPoint recovery software to scan.

Step4. Preview & recover lost PPT file.
You can click PPT file to preview, & select the PPT file, then click "Recover" button.

How can I recover a PPT file that is unsaved?

Try opening up PPT and going into file>open>recent or something similar. PowerPoint generally has pretty good autosave or recovery options these days (if you have the latest version)

App4R.exe comes up on the screen when I am trying to scan in pictures. it then closes the imaging studio down and won't let me use it.

Please update your printer driver. Visit the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/aKlcOJ. Select your operating system, download and execute the file. After updating your printer driver, try to scan again.

When I touch the Scan Menu button, and choose scan to computer I get a message that states: No Scan Options I have been scanning for a year. This happened suddenly and I can't figure out why

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Due to any reason when the HP Communications process fails the HP Scan application won’t work. To resolve the issue you’ll need to follow the procedure as given below---

  1. Force Quit HP Communications (if running)
  2. Force Quit HP Scan (if running)
  3. Turn the printer off
  4. Turn the printer on
  5. Select Scan Picture from the HP Director application
  6. When the HP Scan application complains, press Reset
  7. HP Scan will then hang, but HP Communications will restart
  8. Force Quit HP Scan (again)
  9. Select Scan Picture from the HP Director application (again)

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee

Problem with scanner

Hi,
Try to get the scanner operating by using a programme such as paint (open file from scanner or camera) or powerpoint (insert picture from scanner or camera). I have used this with success in the past. I have not used the scan button so I cannot advise you on this.
Hope this at least gets you going with scanning a copy of something and once you have it in these programmes you can at least print it and make some changes that you desire.
Hope this helps.
Youre right - they are a great printer!!
