Make sure the circulation fan is running. That is the one you can see on the back. Also look at the black grill. One side is open and one side will be blocked. You want the open side on your left if you are standing in front of the heater looking at it. Also look inside the heater and make sure nothing is blocking the air flow. Let me know what you find.

Also make sure the fan is running the right direction blowing air out the front and no curtains or anything are covering the fan.

Just wondering if you got this problem fixed. You should also make sure that no wires are getting pinched or grounded to the case when you put the grill on.

My light won't ignite on my mpi 441 monitor

this morning my heater, monitor 411, was running fine as always.
while it was running the power company came to work on a pole and turned the power off. it was down for about three hours. once power was restored it wouldn't come on.
the pilot light is off but I'm not sure if it's suppose to be while not running.I've tried priming it with three pumps, resetting by unplugging, beleeding the line, all don't work.
it's suppose to be 22f tonight so I could sure use some help.
oh, I have a manual but, of course, it doesn't cover the problem. I also called the company but got a voice mailbox...go figure.
somebody please help!

I have an MPI monitor heater model gf 1800. It keeps flashing E17. why?

My GF 1800 was flashing the e17 code as salenski_mar said.If all is clear around vent pipe, sufficient fuel in tank, ect. take the front cover off the unit,2 sheet metal screws on bottom side left and right(remove power first)on the left side of my unit there is a round black barell shaped container called a heat exchanger.Located about halfway up a small panel with 2 white tube shaped wires going into it.remove 4 screws on this panel and remove the panel.
There are 3 electrodes here . carefully clean these with a rag or fine sandpaper.
Reassemble and retry the heater.I watched a heating tech do this to my unit and charge me $75.00 last year.Did it again this year and I saved a service call.Actualy I believe he used a $20.00 bill instead of sandpaper but clean the flame sensor and it may work.worth a try.

My monitor 2400 heater show's E14

E14 is the code you get when the heater has been burning then loses the flame. This can be from lack of fuel or restricted fuel flow, lack of combustion air, dirty flame rod, loose burner mat, warped burner ring, carbon deposits, or over heat caused by dirty fan cage. Check the cage on the back of the heater and clean if necessary. The fuel pump will start to make a loud ticking or thumping sound if it isn't getting any fuel. If it does, you need to check the fuel filter at the barrel if you have one and the fuel strainer in the fuel sump. You will need some rags to catch the kerosene that will come out when you remove the strainer. Make sure the valve at the fuel barrel is shut before cleaning the strainer. Remove the front of the heater (2 screws, one on each side at the bottom). Remove the black grill (3 screw each side, one in the middle). The flame rod is located next to the burner window. It has one wire going to it. Two screws hold it in. Be careful not to damage the gasket, they are delicate. The flame rod goes in then straight down. It may have soot or carbon on it. It can be cleaned with steel wool or fine sandpaper.

I keep getting the EE12 readout though the temp is not reached

You have an over heat problem. If your heater has been in service for some time all you need to do is clean the screen on the back of the heater. It the aluminum pull out screen on the back. Look at the heater when it is running for about 6 minutes to be sure the circulating fan motor comes on.

If your unit is brand new the plastic cover on the circuit board may be laying over the over heat sensor. If this is the case you will have to remove the front and top panel and reposition the cover.

Monitor2400 heating problem error message E14

I would not use an air compressor to blow inside the unit. You could do more harm than good. E14 means the stove lit normal and ran normal for a while and then quit. I would look at the fuel system. Low fuel, no fuel, dirty filter on tank and stove. After that look at the flame sensor for a small amount of carbon. You will need a gasket when you put it back together. Make sure the exhaust pipe is free of ice and snow. Beyond that you will need to get into the burner. For that you will need a manual and parts.
