krpink26, Go do some reading at this old blog first!!http://www.lesliewong.us/blog/2005/05/02... Then you will have a better handle on just what is causing your "black screen of death" symptom and how some owners (all brands of lcd monitors) fix them on the cheap ($10 or less) for a few more years of service. Then you can return to fixya and tell us tech's what your plans are and also do some reading in the fixya profiles of "budmrtn" "buddymc" "12fixlouie" if you plan on doing a DIY investigation/repair of your 1740.

HP 1740 screen image rotated 90 degrees - how to move back

Hello,

On most video cards the key combinations of ctrl+alt+left arrow, ctrl+alt+right arrow, ctrl+alt+up arrow or ctrl+alt+down arrow will allow you to rotate the screen display in any direction. Each key combination will rotate the screen in the direction of the key press.

I hope this helps, If so please rate our solution.

My hp w2007 moniter keeps going black after about 10 mins. of idle .turned off screensaver because i want moniter to stay on but it doesnt.

Where you go to select "no" screen saver, there should be a "Power Settings" button. Press this and in there you can set the power save feature to "never" switch off monitor. Hope this helps. Ian.
