Question about Daewoo L700C 17" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

2 Answers

I have a flat screen Dawoo monitor model L10AV (17"). My mother used to have it on her computer but sometimes the secreen wouldn't go on. The green light would blink but the screen was black. After fooling around with the cables or after waiting for a while sometimes it would turn on. Now she gave this monitor to me and she has the good monitor I used to have. Now she doesn't have anymore problems but I have the same problems she had. I don't think its the cables because we tried different cables.

Cybertripp, What is correct model number from rear of unit and the date of manufacture? Not cable problem!!! You will need to open monitor and investigate power supply board for "thermal cycle fractured" solder joints on the printed circuit board. You will need large magnifying glass or low power inspection microscope (5x to 20x) to find pesky intermittant solder joints which will need to be resoldered. May also have problem with "BAD" (premature failure) electrolytic filter capacitors!! Swollen tops indicate problem!!! Lots of pictures on web. You need visit to YOUTUBE for DIY video clips of typical repairs to lcd monitor power supply/inverter supply. Then you will know what generates the 600 to 1000v ac required to light the tiny but small diameter fluorescent lamps in back of the lcd panel that is now black and lifeless!!! Do your investigation first to determine if you can handle the repair or contract out the work ($40 to $90) Reply to this response with info on just what you will do about your black screen lcd monitor. 12fixlouie

Find technicaiy solution

That means your monitor has faulty or dead capacitors. The capacitors in your monitor work to hold down power from the source long enough for proper display on the screen. Bulged or leaking capacitors will only hold power for about 2 - 8 seconds and the looses it. The only solution is to replace those fault capacitors with new ones. Get a computer technician to open up the monitor and change the capacitors. That is the only technical problem you asked to know. Good luck

Why the computer doesn't turning on but the green light is lighted

You may want to verify if the computer is the one that do not turn on. Please check if you see the fan on your computer is working and the LED in the mother board is lit.

IF the computer is working and no display on the monitor, despite seeing a green light on the monitor display, this means that monitor is well connected and communicating well with the cpu. Better check the inverter light on the monitor. Replace busted lights. These are responsible for the image you see in your lcd monitor. If the inverter lights are busted then you'll see only black screen.

I cant get a picture the green lights on but no picture

If you are using the integrated card, then there must surely be a problem with you mother board.

I'm afraid if it's fried, but before coming to any conclusion, just check that with an IT professional.

If its a graphics card then I would recommend that you try connecting your monitor in another computer.

Good luck and have a great day!

Blank monitor

Try unplugging the power cord to your computer tower, click the power button to drain the capacitors in the mother board then plug the power cord back in and try to boot up. Has helped me repair several similar black screen problems. Chuck Housecall101@aol.com

Problem with 17" ViewSonic Monitor

The same problem w/ my viewsonic E70 17" monitor. The viewmeter or viewmatch color on screen do not appear when power ON, although the green led power is ON.

But if you rest your monitor for about 10 hrs or more the viewmeter will appear when you power ON the monitor.

You can now start your CPU.

Remember : No viewmeter screen on monitor when power ON, means no supply coming out the picture tube or high voltage.

But if there is Viewmeter on screen , this normal and OK>
