I have programmed the timer - 39964f5.jpg

People seem to have a problem getting the Woods 59377 programmed.

Solutions have been posted but nobody posted back and said, oh, that's what happened, and here's what to do. So without feedback, it's hard to say where the problem is for sure.

After looking at the programming steps myself several times, I believe the most confusing part is the 'blocks of days.' As a result, people may be entering a 'conflict' in their ON OFF times.

For example, if program 1 says ON at 7 and OFF at 8 for certain days, but program 8 says the opposite, then the timer will not function as expected.

The suggested solution is to make a chart of ON OFF times before programming. And then carefully watching the screen for prompts to make sure each ON time has an OFF time.

Re-post your solution and it will help others. Thanks in advance.

"If you need more programming assistance, request form #158ET9311 " from Intermatic.
http://www.intermatic.com/customer%20service.aspx
Or call Intermatic: 815-675-7000

Manual shows example programming on page 17-18:
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/Intermatic-et70415cr.pdf
The instruction manual for this timer does not have step-by-step programming.
There is example programming on page 17-18, but it shows one example.
The timer manual doesn't have step-by-step because the timer prompts the user as the user is programming timer.
As a result, it is difficult to know what step was missed.
It is equally difficult for expert to know what went wrong.
In addition, the timer offers choice of 24 hour or 1-week or 365 day programming.
Also the timer offers choice between 'astro' dawn-dusk' or 'fixed' programming, 'pulse' bell-ringing programming, and 'interval' programming.
And then there are additional programs available for individual days throughout the year if you choose 365 day operation.
Add on top of that, the timer has 4-channel operation where each of the 4 different relay circuits are programmed separately for each of the options mentioned above.
For these reasons, I recommend contacting Intermatic about this timer.

It does not turn off why

Unknown if this is new ST01C timer, or older timer that worked before and stopped working.
Add a comment with more information if needed.

Timer can be defective. Battery can be low. Wiring is wrong. Timer programming has overlaps and conflicts. Program 1 is set but program 2 is not set. No programming is set. Short circuit on lights.

I suggest change battery and reset timer, then reprogram timer.
Write out schedule beforehand to avoid conflicts and overlaps.
Program 1 is ON and program 2 is OFF. Program 3 is ON and program 4 is OFF. etc.

I have set the time and day, set program inc. day, off, on. When I switch mode to automatic the timer goes off. Only work in on mode. I have tried this with 3 separate units. What am I doing wrong?

I don't have repair for defective timer.
If following information does not apply to your timer, then add a comment with clear description of timer for possible help.

http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/GE-15117-Manual.pdf

1) The only complaint about this 6-button timer sold by Woods, GE and Westek is the MODE doesn't work.
The key to this timer is to finish programming, and then press Clock to return to current time, and at this point the timer is in correct mode.
Then do NOT press mode button ever for any reason, except to reset timer.

2) Try resetting timer by pressing Clock Mode and Prog buttons at same time, and then re-program timer.

3) Timer is not heavy-duty. Load rating is 1000watts incandescent, and 1/4 HP.
If load rating is greater, then timer will not operate as expected.

4) If you have problem with timers, try timer on different load and on different outlet.
Test outlet for polarity using circuit analyzer.

I just installed a Wood 59018 timer, and when i try to turn it on manually, I hear the relay click on and then immediately off (the attached light turns on and off too). That's when the switch is set...

Timer is wired wrong and timer white and timer red wires are probably connected together.
Timer white wire has to be connected to white neutral wires that are twisted together and shoved to back of box. This will power the clock mechanism inside timer.
If box does not have white neutrals, then connect timer white wire to bare ground wire along with timer green wire.
Timer black wire connects to Hot wire.
Timer red wire connects to Load wire.

I have GE Model #15089 digital timer. I want to reset time to come on to 7:30 pm and turn off at 10:30 pm. It was previously coming on at 6:00 pm and off at 10:30 pm and working fine but when I tried...

The problem with answering questions where somebody cannot program a timer, or programming stopped working, is that expert doesn't know if timer is defective, or needs to be reset, or timer has conflicting programming, or if person has mis-read the instruction manual, or if wrong button sequence is being used, or if internal battery has gone bad, or if circuit has interference or loose wiring, or if light bulb burned out, and however expert guesses, the person asking question is unhappy because the timer still doesn't work and/or the manual still doesn't make sense.

I work with timers every day and suggest the following steps to get started:
Reset timer and try setting program again.
Write out steps in manual at point where timer doesn't seem to work.
Double-check that you are pushing correct buttons all the way down.
Make sure same days of operation are selected for ON and for OFF. For example if ON is set for all days, and OFF is set for Tuesday, then timer will not work as expected.
Reset timer and make sure there are no conflicting or overlapping programs, or timer will not work as expected.
Test outlet with cheap circuit analyzer from home center, try timer on different outlet, try timer on different Load, check that Load works when plugged into outlet without the timer.
Save some headaches listed above, and buy another 15089 at Home Depot and return defective one in new package.

I wrote a page and tested Utilitec timers
Wiring and programming is shown on page:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitec-0192773.html

Here's how to tell where problem is:
Press ON-OFF button to see if timer turns on lights
.
If manual override does NOT work, then wiring is wrong.
If manual override works, and lights turn ON-OFF, then programming is wrong.

Press ON-OFF and then add a comment for more help.

I have installed a Unilitech timer. The timer switches lights on but will not turn them off. I have checked and rechecked the wiring and the programming. What is wrong and how do I correct it?.

Unilitech or Utilitec?

I tested the Utilitec and wrote a page showing larger instructions:
The page also has a section that shows how to double check your wiring
http://www.waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitec-0192773.html
To help folks who buy this timer, I tried all the wiring combination. I hooked red wire to white Neutral wire and blew out the timer. So don't do that. And to square up with Lowes for selling a product that has tiny instructions and no website, I took back the blown out timer and got another one to experiment with.

Enough of world problems:
Your timer could be defective, so we'll keep that as the last answer.

Here's my best guess why Lights turn on but don't turn off:
Other timer manuals say that if programs conflict, then the timer will not perform as expected.
For example if program 1 says ON at 7 and OFF at 8, but program 4 says the opposite or has overlapping times.
Other manuals recommend that people make a spread sheet of times before programming the timer.

Up-vote if this information helps. Thanks for the feedback.
