Maybe it's set on the panoramic mode. On the left hand side right under where the strap thingy is there's a switch that says P ( panoramic ) and STD (standard ). Just switch it to the other mode.

Hope this helps.

How does one get out of panorama mode?

There's a switch on the side, just above the thing you click to open the door and install film. It says "p" or "Std" -- just turn it to "Std" (standard) instead of "p" (panoramic)

How do i change the shutter speed on my camera? Do not have manual.

Here's a link to the manual you can download and save.
http://ca.konicaminolta.com/support/manuals/film-cameras/film_af_slr/index.html
If it fails, go to Konica Minolta global. Select Canada as the country. Go to support, to manuals, to film cameras. Then select film AF SLR and you will find your STsi. Sugg. While you're there, Download as many of those FREE manuals as you can. We don't know how long they will keep that page up. You may decide to go buy another camera on Ebay without a manual. You can get several fancier Maxxums at very good prices now. The others in the ~Tsi series and the 3, 4, 5, 50, 70 are lightweight, like yours vs the other Maxxums, and all will use the same accessories. You will be able to read the manual on each one before you bid on it.
In the meantime, to set shutter speed, Move the dial to PASM Depress the center func button and rotate the wheel by the release button. Select either (M)anual or (S)hutter priority. Release the button. Rotate the wheel to set shutter speed.

I need a replacement tripod socket for minolta stsi

Hi there and welcome to FixYa.

Depending of your use of the tripod, (meaning, if your a professional photographer, or just a hobbiest = how much money your willing to invest to fix it!) there are a couple things you can do.

Purchase a clamp on head for your tripod. There are many on the web to choose from.
Or: (if you want to truly McGuyver it)
Take off the the screw so the tripod head is flat then use double stick velcro tape. Put one half on the bottom of your camera and the other on the flat part of the tripod. That will do the job for the hobbiest with for very littel money.

Hope this helps.

Rectangle piece keeps falling out when I take lens off.

That's the Acute Matte Focusing Screen. They are made to be swappable and easily installed. While I don't know the specifics of your camera (I own a Maxxum 7000), I can assure you it's probably easily fixed, and probably not actually broken. Most likely, it's retainer just let go.

Minolta StSi Maxxum

It's the shutter speed. I copied this out of the manual :

The number 60, or 125, displayed in the
data panel stands for 1/60th or 1/125th of a
second.
• Usable apertures will depend on the aperture range of the lens you are using. • The seconds indicator appears in the
viewfinder and data panel if the shutter
speed is one second or longer.

Albeit copy and paste made it fit weird into here.

Can't switch to autofocus.

The autofocus motor is probably worn-out -- a common problem. Most shops can rebuild the brushes in the motor, since parts are no longer available from Minolta.
