Question about Televison & Video

My Bush DTR is displaying 'FAIL' on the display, and is stuck on standby. I've tried unplugging for a couple of hours and plugging it back in, but it just show 'PLS WAIT' for a few seconds, before showing 'FAIL'. It doesn't seem to pick up the remote control's signal, but the remote is definitely working. There's nothing about the 'FAIL' message in the instruction manual, and the warranty ran out a couple of weeks ago! Any thoughts? The model is BTU250DTR if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance!

I had the same problem with mine, you have to reset the machine, two ways to do it, unplug the power for 5 secs, then hold down the power button on the front, plug in and turn power on, wait for format then revert on the display, let the button off and wait 45 secs then try your remote.

Hi,
Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Take care in solving the problem.......

Hi, I have the same problem (commented on another similar thread). I have dismantled my btu250dtr, and examined the psu - no sign of leaky capacitors etc. Also, we have this "fail" message, but surely if the psu was dead, the lcd display wouldn't be able to function either? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
