Re: tv does not power up properly
Sounds like it is in demo mode. First check in the owners manual for auto demonstration, then try unplugging the set for 5 mins. If that doesn't correct it call the store you bought it from and see if the salesperson knows how to turn off auto demo. If all else fails, contact the manufacturer for help.

This is a brilliantly simple solution to a highly frustrating problem.<br />
The issue of course is made difficult only by the fact that TV manufacturers all use several different ways to lock and unlock the Parental control which effectively disables the TV! If you do not have access to the information you do not know what combination of buttons is required to return the TV to normal function.<br />
To remove the lock on the Jensen simpy press and hold the <b>Display Button</b> on the remote<b> </b>for at least 3 seconds whilst pointing it at the TV. <br />
The lock will be removed and the TV will resume normal operation. Simple!.<br />

Firstly having tried TV's has a computer monitor, I personally wouldn't recommend one for that purpose. The screen appearance will never look as good as a proper monitor. Even a second-hand monitor will give you better picture quality, plus it will shut down when you power the system down.
Universal remotes have to be set up with the correct code for the make of TV and model. Not all codes will work all functions. Unless you actually know the correct code for your TV try all the other codes for the brand. Choose the best one.
Again the "Universal" on makes of remotes referrers to the fact you can get the basic functions for all makes of TV. It does not mean that it will work ALL functions on all TV's. The more expensive "universal" remotes will do more functions, but nothing will beat the "original" remote.
Ur tv mute button might not be function anymore, because of rubber inner layer are worn out or the main CPU chip of the remote itself it shorted causes this problems.U have a Digital Camera, turn it on.Put the tv remote wright in front of the camera press the remote mute button,u will see on the camera viewing screen the mute button work or not wright away because Digital camera can read infer red signal output.Try website like Remotes.com to buy a new original remote or a very closed compatible one.
Tv manual PCB control buttons all work?Like power on/off,volume - + and chanels + - all work than it not the manual PCB board control IR is parts of this board. Not the IR problems, when tv is finally on the remote work fully everything buttons? No,could be remote control have problems.Tv might have DM power supply board problems.
The TV requires restoration due to jammed setting either because the remote control was damaged or power function buttons have been pressed too frequenly.
The following processes are recommended
1. Consider replacing the remote control possibly acquiring another on the market; for example, a universal remote could be acquired to replace the original provided with system upon purchase.
2. With the new remote acquired, perform a system restoration or reconfiguration; discribable
a. The universal remote acquired on retail would have a menu button where functions could be manipulated
b. The menu button once pressed should display options on which to select system reconfiguration
c. A system reconfiguration would reset the entire TV settings to a manufacturers default expected to fix any user alterations that might have resulted into a malfunction.
Once the entireprocess is complete, th TV should not operate undesiringly.
1. Do not sit on remote control or press several button at the same time; could cause device to alter configuration.
2.Do not situate TV at areas that could directly place pressure on power button areas switches
3.Do not attempt to reconfgure the TV original setting without first refering to the user guide or contacting professional technical experts.
4. Finally contact technical experts whenever necessisary.
Closed caption wont turn off was solved by Bresnan tech. He told me the only way was to push the power button on my remote & then push the menu button right away & it would bring up a white screen & cc would be on it. I could't get it to work so I pushed the power button on my remote & the menu button on my motorola cable box & up came the screen & closed caption was on it. I disabled it & it took off the closed caption. Hope this helps
