How do I run a diagnostic? The dryer just quit heating. Everything else is working fine. How do I trouble shoot to see which part needs replaced?

If there is no heat, you can conclude the heating element has failed or a controller has failed but your description does not identify the dryer brand and indicate whether it is electric or gas.

Duet gas gas dryer has no heat

does the flame go on and then shut down if so make sure vent hose is clear all the way through if ok then you need to locate the blower wheel and make sure there isnt a sock jambed in it and its tight on the shaft not spinning loose they crack and are servicable.

Maytag Dryer model PYE1000AYW runs fine no heat

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

As everything in your dryer is working fine apart from it heating properly so the recommended repair will be thermal fuse/thermostat replacement. However, you can also test its continuity before replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

I have a estate whirlpool mod # TGDX640PQ0 and the dryer runs and there is no heat. i took it apart and i saw that there is no flame or what you would call it. but everything lese works just fine. what...

you have several things to look at, 1 - is the vent abstructed or pluged up with lint? 2- is there gas to the unit and is the valve turned to the on position? 3- is there spark when you turn the unit on and if the dryer isnt shutting off then you may have a problem with the timer or comp. board

Whirlpool dryer WED5530SQ0, heats but does not run

So,. basically your drum doesnt turn. SO your getting heat still even though the drum isnt turning. Is this right? Sounds strange??? Do you hear any humming noise when you push the start button? I need to know a little more about the problem because im kinda confused as how you decribed the problem. Iv never seen a dryer heat but the drum not spinning. especially your model dryer. Its electric heat right? because if the drum doesnt spin, maybe your motor is bad. and if your motor is bad, then your heating element wont heat up because the centrifical switch in the motor is not switching to complete the circuit to the heating element. So this is why im confused when you said" Dryer heats when knob turned but when "push button" pressed, drum doesnt run." Because your belt wraps around the motor pully and the motor is what makes the drum turn. Like i said, i never seen this model dryer heat with out the motor operating. So if you can give me some more info, ill do my best to help you out....Thanks!!!!

Ariston washer/dryer. Dryer not working

Assuming everything else is working, it sounds like your heating element is burned out. Two years is a little short for the typical life span but not unthinkable.

Here's a photo of the part for your unit at a site that sells them. If you pull the back panel off and trace the wires, you should be able to find this part easily. It is designed to be replaced.
