This was very difficult to find, but I found it just for you! Please make sure you rate my answer 4 thumbs up! Thanks so much for understanding, it would be a huge help to me. I would be forever grateful if you could do this for me. To view the manual you will need adobe reader, which you can get for free from http://get.adobe.com/reader/ You probably already have it though, please try opening the file first and find out. Here is the manual / guide please give it a few minutes the file is quite large:

I can't access the kindle store

Are you out of your usual wi-fi area? You may need to go back and check wi-fi settings and set up again.
From Home or any Settings screen, view the wireless indicators at the upper right corner of your Kindle. While reading, tap the top of the screen to view the wireless indicators.
Wireless Indicator Description Your Kindle is connected to 3G. This may also say EDGE or GPRS.
Note: For 3G enabled devices only Your Kindle is connected to a Wi-Fi network and has a strong signal. The Wi-Fi symbol appears when in range of a trusted Wi-Fi network.

Can I print Kindle manual

Which type of kindle do you have?
Amazon provides online PDF User's Guides (which can be printed with your computer or a smartphone which has been set up to a wireless printer) for the following:
  • Kindle Fire
  • Kindle Touch
  • Kindle
  • Kindle Keyboard
  • Kindle 2nd Generation (Free 3G)
  • Kindle 2nd Generation (U.S. Wireless)
  • Kindle DX Graphite
  • Kindle DX (Free 3G)
  • Kindle DX (U.S. Wireless)
  • Kindle (1st Generation)

If you are looking for information on how to print on your PDA, I would suggest searching for it on FixYa, or providing your exact PDA model.

Kindle new do i need wifi connection

The Kindle is available in two versions
1) Enabled with Wi-Fi only version
2) Wi-Fi plus 3G version.

In the case of the 3G-enabled Kindle, you do not need to do anything to connect to the Internet. The Kindle automatically connects to Amazon's 3G Whispernet network whenever it is within the coverage area. No membership or subscription fees are required in this particular version.

For a Wi-Fi only Kindle, you must select and connect to a public or private wireless network to access the Internet. You'll need to use your home Wi-Fi network or another access point to complete the initial setup and buy books and selling on amazon.

But The Kindle DX is only capable of with the use of a 3G connection.

My Kindle is not connecting Via 3G. It is 3G enabled.

The information provided below was tested on a Kindle 2, international version with Wi-Fi and 3G.

The Kindle automatically searches for the best connection signal in the area you're in. But for that, you first need to check if the wireless mode is turned on.

If you can see the signal strength bars next to the battery icon at the top, it is on. If close to the battery icon you only see another icon marked OFF, then you need to change that, as follows:

Press MENU,

Move the 5-way controller button up, till the selecting bar is under "Turn Wireless On" and press it once.

The Kindle will start to look for the providers in the area. The kind of connection it is connected to will be shown next to the battery icon and can be 3G, 2G, GPRS, EDGE and 1X. But to see this information, you need to press the MENU button, because it is not shown in the normal view.

That icon at the top indicates the connection that was established by your device.

Another way to check the connection you have is via the settings display, in an undocumented feature. Here, a note of caution: THIS IS A FEATURE NOT DOCUMENTED IN THE KINDLE MANUAL AND YOU WILL BE USING IT AT YOUR SOLELY DISCRETION. IF YOU SELECT A NETWORK THAT DOES NOT PROVIDE THE RIGHT SERVICE, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONNECT YOUR DEVICE - YOU SHOULD BETTER LET THE AUTOMATIC SELECTION MODE ON.

If you still want to proceed, you need to press MENU, select Settings and, when the Settings screen is displayed, press type 311.

A warning note indicating that the connection will be lost momentarily and that you may not successfully reconnect to the Amazon Whispernet networks appears. Selecting OK in this panel will take you to the "Available Wireless Providers" screen and the Kindle will take a while to scan all the networks available in your area.

A list of the networks found will be displayed. You can move the cursor and select the one you want, pressing the 5-way controller button. But it is better to select the "Switch automatically" option and let the best option be selected by the Kindle.

I hope these tips can help you solve your problem. Good luck!

Hello, I just recieved a email from Amazon about a new update, I switched my Kindle from 3G to wi fi and recieved the update. How do i switch back to 3G? Thank you

It will automatically use whatever connection is best, so if you have a wireless connection configured, it will use that, but once you are out of range of any configured wireless network, it will use 3G connection.

I have the kindle 3.0.2, I have wifi but i dont have 3g i will like to know how i get get 3g on my kindle ?

First of all there are two types of kindle, the kindle 3g + WIFI and the Kindle WIFI. If you bought the kindle WIFI you will be unable to connect to a 3g network. If you bought a 3g model you can access 3g internet by pressing the 'menu' button and then using the 5-way to navigate to 'turn on wireless'. Once wireless is on you can access your browser by clicking menu, scrolling to experimental and then selecting Web Browser

I do not have wireless at home. Received the 3g version of kindle for christmas. It worked all this time. Today, it will not connect. Sees all sorts of wireless connections which are all password...

You are mixing up two things: 3G and Wi-Fi.

3G is a mobile phone data service, supported by selected Kindle devices. Your Kindle 3 3G has a SIM card built inside, just like the fingernail-size chips you put into a mobile phone. Amazon set up contracts with phone service providers in many countries so you can use it to download books to your Kindle at no extra costs for you other than the higher price of Kindle 3 3G compared to the non-3G version. You do not need any extra hardware for this to work, and it will work in most places of the world. This is the guarantee you were promised.

Wi-Fi is a wireless communication standard all Kindle devices support. While most hotels, airports and some restaurants provide free Wi-Fi access for guests, you need your own WLAN router at your home, and pay for your own broadband internet service. The "all sorts of wireless connections which are all password protected" belong to your neighbors and they are password protected so that nobody can take a free ride on the service they pay for.

You can tell the connection status of your Kindle from symbols in in the status bar, at the top right of the screen:
  • If it shows "OFF", wireless connectivity is deactivated and you cannot access the internet from your Kindle, or download books.
  • If it shows "Wi-Fi", the Kindle is connected to a Wi-Fi network. The five bars right of the symbol represent the connection's signal strength, the more bars are black, the better.
  • If it shows "3G", you are connected via 3G mobile data service. The bars right of this symbol refer to mobile phone service signal strength, much like a mobile phone would show you.
If you do not have internet connection with wireless LAN at home, you need to set up your Kindle to use the 3G service. This is the default setting when the device is delivered to you, and I believe it worked until you or somebody else inadvertently changed the configuration.
Follow this step-by-step procedure:
  1. Switch on your Kindle.
  2. Press the "Home" button.
  3. Check the status bar. Does it show the "3G" symbol? If yes, how about signal strength? If you are somehow blocked from mobile phone antennas in your area, signal strength will be low and the Kindle will not have internet access. Move around and see if it becomes better.
  4. Does it show the "OFF" symbol? If yes, press the "Menu" button. A menu of commands should open. Use the four-way button just below "Menu" to underline the top-most option "Turn Wireless On" and press the center of the four-way. The menu list will close, and after a moment Kindle will try to connect to the internet.
  5. Does it show the "Wi-Fi" symbol? If yes, I assume you accidentally connected to a neighbor's Wi-Fi network and its firewall protected, or is too far away to use it. In this case, press the "Menu" button to open the command menu. Use the four-way button just below "Menu" to underline "Settings", second option from the bottom, and press the center of of the four-way. The settings menu will open. Use the four-way button to navigate down to "Wi-Fi Settings" (the text "view" must be underlined) and press the center of the four-way. The list of Wi-Fi networks open. Navigate down using the four-way to any network with the text "forget" on it and press the center of the four-way.
Please let me know if you encounter problems in following these instructions, and I'll try to assist you further.
