When trying to upload picture to the computer they won't appear instead it shows a image with a bridge. How i can i fix this?

  • Anonymous Oct 14, 2010

It still isn't working. perhaps it is because the program i use to import pictures is picasa so it doesn't have the option of "open" when i right click on the image. Any other advice?

Thanks for the advice! Used another program to copy the pictures and it worked! YAY!

Hi. the computer might have not recognized the file as photos. Right click on that file then click open with then select the program you usually use in opening a picture e.g picture manager etc..

  • Anonymous Oct 15, 2010

regardless of what program you have you used to import the file. It should be reading the file as picture. can you copy the file manually? From your camera, copy the picture and paste it to any folder in your computer or you can creat a folder of your own and paste all the files there. Now check i you will be getting the same problem.

Communication error when trying to upload pictures to computer

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa.

I inserted a thumb drive with pictures on it and although they show on the frame, they do not show in the order that I numbered them in

The following advice is not specific to your model, but you have a common problem and the solution I suggest usually works for most makes and models.

Try renaming the files in the order you wish them to play as 001, 002, etc. If you do so without the leading zeroes then on some models of picture frames the filing system gets the images in the wrong order. Note that if you are uploading thousands of images then you may wish to start the numbering at 0001 instead. After renaming the files, re-upload them to the photo frame and you should find that they're OK. Depending upon your host computer's operating sytem you should be able to batch rename the files instead of laboriously renaming and saving each one individually.

Only uploads certain photos?

Does your computer have enough space for all of the files? If you've checked that it does, you might try using a different program, such as Adobe Bridge. As a Canon user Canon's Digital Photo Professional is free (unlike Bridge), and it can allow you to see thumbnails of the images on your card. I've heard from other users to be sure you're using your camera to format the CF card and not your computer- somehow that affects the file storage system on the card. Good luck.
