Hello. Begin by removing the battery and taking the battery to any autoparts store where they will check it for you. Most likely the battery is shot and you will need to purchase a new one. Joe

just put a new bat on it about two mowings ago

Ok. In that case, check the battery cables to be sure they are tight. Also, change the air filter, and the spark plug.

Fully charge the battery and then mow. TEst the battery again after you mow. If it is not fully charged your charging system is bad. Joe

alternator is not charging battery. The car is starting and running on the battery till it goes dead. Check the alternator installation , something is not installed correctly or you have the wrong type of alternator. Alternators now a days can physically fit into the vehicle, but have different electronics built in. voltage regulators, diodes, etc. You give. no year make model of vehicle so it is very difficult to help you.

Charging system is not providing necessary current and battery is getting draqined. Need to diagnose charging system and do a complete battery check at the same time.

My voltage regulator (kmx 125) gets hot when engine starts, there might be something wrong with it...thanks

I think it's supposed to get hot, given its metal and has fins to dispurse heat, so as long as the batteries charging and the lights don't dim it's fine. You could check the charge with a volt meter, while the engines running I don't remember the exact voltage it should be at idle and under load but I think it's 12v idle and upto 13v under load, but check the manual for the exact voltages. If it out of specs it needs replacing.

When i plug my charger in i have to move it around for it to start charging and if i move my phone it quits charging its not the chargers i have tired im thinking it my phone. what do i do?

The charging socket on you phone needs to be resoldered, OR the plug on the charging adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced.
To determine which is faulty, use a different charger and plug it into your phone and move the charging plug to see if the it quits charging. If it quits charging then the charging socket on the phone needs fixing (re-soldering).

I have a 1999 Mercury Sable and accidentally installed the battery backwards. Replaced blow fuses and the car ran fine. After sitting idle for 3 days, returned to find the new battery dead. A jump start...

Check and make sure your termimals to the battery are clean and tight. You can find out if the alternator is charging by simply starting the car and while it is running take the negitive cable off the battery. If the car quits its not charging (have the alternator check) if the car keeps running it is working properly. If it is charging and all your termimals are tight and clean you may have shorted out the battery and ruined it by hooking it up backwards. Good luck

Starter I think

Check the big battery cable on the starter and make sure its not touching metal anywhere. Did you get sparks at any point during your job. Check the fuse links...pull on them make sure they are intact
