its a coby mp815-16g. it will only let me click on music on the main menu and nothing else and when playin music it will not let me turn the volume up. i tried to reset it and that dont work either.i have tried that and i could not find anything that would help me.

All I could find on it is to click the up or down. I do know that Coby is kind of a crappy brand. It probably has a manufacturer defect and you should sent it in to be replaced. Sorry I couldn't help.

what brand of mp3 player do u reccomend?

  • amberlyn_sto Oct 15, 2010

I actually have a zune and while it isn't without its problems, I find it to be much better than an ipod and less expensive. I found some of the 30g older models for around 60 dollars. Good luck!

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard

Double check your manual, b/c you might have to substitute hold or REC for "volume +", but:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard
