Question about Mozilla Firefox

1 Answer

I have recently re-installed the operating system (XP) on my computer. Before the re-installation, Mozilla Firefox used to be stable and reliable, except that it sometimes crashed and needed to be re-opened. Since the re-installation, it has been anything but stable and reliable. Sometimes it will not start. If it does start, then it does not carry out a RESTORE of my bookmarks - which I have saved in the My Documents folder. I have tried uninstalling and then re-installing using a different version. But the problems persist. Has anyone any suggestions for sorting out these problems with MFF?

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Hi ,
Probably your browser . Are you using Internet Explorer ? Under XP , you can't update this browser , known as not reliable with Facebook .
You could use Firefox from Mozilla : http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ .

Which Operating System is running on your computer? If it's Windows XP, you need to delete a file with the name "dwmapi.dll" in the C: drive's System32 folder under Windows folder. If I am right, the problem might have started after installing Mozilla Firefox. The reason is a wrong driver of Windows Vista installed on Windows XP system.

The process is like this:
Open My Computer, then "C:" drive, and again "Windows", locate "System32" folder and again locate "dwmapi.dll" in the System32 folder and delete the "dwmapi.dll". That should definitely do the trick.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Downloaded new version mozilla firefox but cannot access web

Uninstall the one you have now, manually delete all Mozilla/Firefox remaining folders, use another pc to download (as in Save, not Run) the installers for the latest Firefox and a system cleaner like
http://www.iobit.com/advancedwindowscareper.html
move these installers to a USB stick then plug the stick in your pc.
First install and run the system cleaner, after it has done its job launch the installer of Firefox.

Install IE7 or if possible Mozilla Firefox 3.0, Mozilla Firefox is much stable, fast & secure than IE. You can also use Mozilla add-ons for more productivity.
