The machine will wash but will not spin out the water. It is a extra large capacity and it did spin then it started just spinning every now and then now it wont.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

As you do not say the make and model I'm assuming, at least until you tell me otherwise (!), that it is a front loader. I normally deal only with front loaders for motors and belts 'cos their easier ;-0)

This sounds very much like the motor is failing. Motors- and belts, which is sensible to change at the same time- are easy to be changed by a competent person:-
REMOVE POWER FROM THE MACHINE AND REMOVE THE BACK.
The motor support bolts, normally 2, should be loosened and the belt removed then remove the bolts completely
With the motor it is false economy to just have the brushes changed. Experience of others is that the brushes may only last months unless, that is, the motor is totally refurbished. Refurbishing includes skimming the commutator on which the brushes run. Without skimming the brushes do not sit firmly on the commutator but straddle it- the centre is often more worn than the outer part.
Unfortunately motors are not cheap- the motor for our 18+ year-old Bosch cost GBP250 but it will probably outlive us. The choice is entirely yours, I'm afraid!
Often putting the new belt on is a bit of a struggle, even with the motor 'loose', because it is new and smaller!
Once on it should be tensioned by pulling the motor against the belt firmly- but not over tight- and the motor support bolts tightened.
ON NO ACCOUNT SHOULD ANY FORM OF LEVERAGE BE USED TO TENSION THE BELT. THAT COULD LEAD TO DAMAGE TO THE BELT, MOTOR AND BEARINGS- EXPENSIVE!
Hope this is your problem solved.
Good luck,
John C

Miele front loader washing machine W3275- error code F53- what does this mean?

hi,

this is a tachogenerator fault or the drive motor brushes are faulty. you will need a Miele service tech or a Miele service agent to look at this.

My washing machine will not spin...

As you don't give the model, I can just give a generic reply.
Most front loaders are belt driven, and some top loaders are.
I think the main thing to look at first is the connection of the drive motor to the tub. If this is a belt - replace it and check the tensioner.
If it is a top loader using a gearbox, then the motor is likely to need either brushes or a new capacitor. Both items should be checked - so -
Belt ok? - Y= go to next question / N = Replace belt
Brushes ok Y= go to next question / N =Replace
Replace Motor Run Capacitor.

My front loader, model #FTF30ES1 won't spin out

This could be due to water discharge. Clean filter/ pump if needd be could also be slow motor speed , worn belt/ brushes in motor. good luck

7.5kg top loader Whirlpool - 5yrs old. Overloaded

Looks like your motor/gearbox combination is broken. not worth the repair. By the time the top drum is removed, it will cost for motor/gearbox:top drum(will break when trying to remove) and labour. Cost will almost be the same. For the same price i would opt for new because at least you get a proper gaurentee.

The washer runs through entire cycle but when it gets to the spin cycle the motor clicks on but does not spin

Hi there....you havent stated whether its a top loader or a front loader.....top loader 1st.....

usually caused by a defective drive clutch..this will require the drive mechanism to be removed and a relacement clutch fitted
front loader 2nd...this is usually caused by failed spin windings in the motor..worn carbon brushes in the motor.or a failed programmer....
