Barrel turns no heat-new fuse-same-new element-same. Old element burned could new fuse pop and I need new one

Be sure to check for lint inside the filter housing and also vent blockage. 240 volts is going into the dryer. The motor runs on 120 so you might have a voltage problem. Heating element needs 240 volts. here is my video let me know if this helps:

Clanking dryer and burning smell when on

the clanking is due to the main axel bearing worn out or loose the burning is due to clothing lint gathered around the heating element and catching fire this dryer sounds like it needs a real good service pull the back of take out the barrel . take note of how the drive belt comes off as there tricky to put back on clean all the lint from around the heating iron and re assemble with all bolts tight and you should get another couple of yrs out of it

need more advice feel free to email

pleas remember to rank my reply

Dryer spontaneously turns on, barrel doesn't spin

If the dryer is more than 10-15 yrs old its probably a good idea to get another one...from what you told me it sounds like a pretty serious electrical problem or short with the Motor or control switch...I wouldn't suggest you try and fix this one yourself...

My dryer is not heating,we have checked all of the settings, and the barrel is spinning so can you please help, the unit is about 4 yrs.old I have a maytag neptune

check ur breaker first, dryers will run on 120volts but wont heat unless have 240.

if electric check ur heating element, thermostats, and thermal fuse for continuity with a meter.

if gas check the ignitor, thermal fuse, and secondary gas coils,

No heat will come from the dryer

Check the dryer breaker pair in the house electrical box. Push off, then on. If the breakers trip immediately, then you have a direct short circuit in the dryer, usually the heating element which involves removing the drum to get at the element(s). If the breakers hold, then try the dryer. If you get heat--ok. If drum turns, but no heat--check with a voltmeter across the two slanted slots in the power socket. You should read ~220 volts AC. If near zero, then one of the breakers is probably bad. Get an electrician to replace the breaker pair.

GE Dryer doesn't give out heat.

OK, i would check the thermal fuse. is usually located on or around the blower housing. Check the vent duct if its not on the blower motor housing. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

If the fuse is OK, there is only one more problem spot and that will be the timer itself. replace the timer/control if the fuse is OK.

Dryer turns but no heat

In some cases, even if the igniter is glowing, the resistance may not be low enough to turn on the gas valve. If 3-5 yrs old, the igniter has probably gone bad. ($50.00 to $90.00 for igniter). The coils also have an occasion to go bad, albeit rarely.
