Question about Qtronix Computers & Internet

2 Answers

I manage a large over-55 community with an apparently obsolete character generator for our Comcast cable in-house channel. Several of the characters are not working and Comcast referral suggest that fix is not possible and that we should purchase new computer with Microsoft PowerPoint. Problems: Cost and elderly volunteer may not be trainable on new equipment. Can you help? Equipment is 800 Series by Video Data Systems (front) and QTRONIX F2Q-QX901 on back.

I was hoping that someone might have/or plan to upgrade their in-house channel and have the apparently obsolete keyboard in a closet or perhaps someone can fix our keyboard.
I have PowerPoint but it is beyond the abilities of our elderly volunteers that handle the posting of events.

Well you could try posting a Wanted Ad on Craigslist or you local paper for a working used computer.

You can get a FREE PowerPoint viewer from Microsoft here.

Good luck with your community!

Model mx011anm. Where can I get a manual?

First of all, this is not a modem, it is a newer cable TV box from Comcast, specifically for the Xfinity X1 platform.

Depending on what you're looking for, fair warning that the following is fairly technical, and can be done if you follow the instructions carefully.

The FCC has information on Comcast's latest X1 boxes, of which the MX011ANM is Motorola's first entry into the new platform. To look up documents submitted for any electronic device, you need the FCC ID from the label, that is somewhere on the device (back or bottom on something like a cable box, inside the battery compartment on many other devices like a cell phone or a remote control). The first 3 characters of the FCC ID is called the, "grantee code," and refers to the original manufacturer. The remaining characters are the, "product code," which identifies the device.

Try finding these on your device, and looking them up on the FCC website.

Or, and this is what I would suggest, is that you call Comcast to see if they have a manual available yet for your device.

Very best,

Dell manuals

I have Dell N 017F9Y keyboard, which has several keys with up to 4 special characters (e.g., ;, : apostrophy and degree symbols on one key) on them. The problem is - what keys (shift/alt/Ctrl or specific combinations of these) should be used to get appropriate character. There are 6 keys with 4 characters, 6 with 3 characters. Another example is when I try to put question mark using Shift lock it gives me ( ^ ) this character. The help is urgently needed.

I have my wep key, 11 characters, and internet at my own house. problem is: my psp says its invalid and it wont go in. im really lost and not sure what to do. hexadecimal what?

Hi, the WEP key you have should be incorrect, WEP keys have to be 10 characters, 26 characters or 58 characters.
Also, make sure you have entered your key correctly, when hexadecimal warning comes up it usually means that you have entered a character that is not A,B,C,D,E,F or 0-9.

Decoding properties EAN128. I need the data separator not to be removed (FNC1) for variable lenght application identifiers. How do i have to configure the 4410

If you generate your own barcode font, you may find the FNC1 character in the manual. In the ascii table for the font generator we use, the FNC1 character's ascii value is 102 +32 and is coded as (chr)134 in the code128c string. Most Iinfo online suggests the ascii character is 202 or 234 (?) or the character defined as "capital E with the circumflex", but that did not work for our barcode font.

Local Comcast provider is switching to more digital programming

you will need the adapter and the good news is, the box is free, the downside to this is the panasonic recorder is going to need to only record on channel 3 or 4(there is a switch on the back of the comcast box) and the comcast box will need to be on the channel the program is on. I.E. Panasonic recording channel 3 or 4 from 10-11 am comcast box on channel 55 during that time.

TH-42PX25U cable card problem. Missing numerous HD & SD channels

Check your signal levels from the cable company. Sounds like they're low or marginal. You may need an amplifier, if so make sure it's a bi-directional (2-way) amp. Surprised the techs that came to the house didn't check this. It's a commonm problem.
